here for a good time, not a long time
Fiery Pink Pepper from Molton Brown opens with so much promise, a zesty dust storm of dry citrus peel and pith, ginger’s tangy effervescent spice, and some underlying rosy-peppery woody notes. It rapidly becomes a somewhat predictable smelling woody cologne that is somehow also aquatic, but both aspects are equally lackluster. It’s that bubbly, vivacious new acquaintance that when you get to know them, you realize that they don’t actually have any interests or passions and they don’t have much of an internal life. Fun for a very short time, but it’s no one you are ever going to have a deep or lasting connection with. This fragrance is the essence of that person--what little essence they might have, anyway-- distilled and bottled.

Clean transparent pepper
As seems to be a trend with their fragrances, this is both light and "polished" - however, unlike the fragrances I've tried so far, this is slightly sharper and with a bit more of a "kick".

This is a pepper fragrance so it's not too surprising, but it's something to keep in mind. Despite that, however, this is still quite transparent and inoffensive - very breezy, without much of a body behind it.

I actually dislike this one - but take that with a grain of salt, as I tend to dislike an overabundance of pink pepper / patchouli in general, which this seems to lean on a little more. Given the singular other review, though, hopefully I'll at least help someone.

Starts with a blast of citrus and pepper, but the citrus quickly seems to fade to a supporting role to everything else - it adds some "juice" to the fragrance but I wouldn't say it's citrus heavy. Seems to turn slightly sour on me, like a stale spice cabinet - it's (very) light woods, edged with a certain amount of light pepper, but both of these are faint and feel slightly distant. The ginger, too, isn't present in any significant sense - here it's bloodless, a ghost of a ginger root that lived in a kitchen once. The patch then rears its head and adds a memory of dirt behind the whole thing, which is ironic considering this is primarily available as a bodywash.

Doesn't seem to project much - hopefully it won't last long, either.

Nostalgic fragrance
A gift box from Molton Brown was under the Christmas tree, beautifully wrapped with a velvet bow. The body lotion, shower gel and eau de toilette are all nicely wrapped up, looking at me nostalgically with their prints reminiscent of Harry Potter. Determined, I reach for the little eau de toilette and treat my wrist to the first spray. Ohhhhlala, pink pepper and fresia set a striking yet gentle tone, as if they have always lived together in symbiosis, joined by elemihart and a ripe mandarin from southern Italy, The world is beautiful up here. In the heart note, I predominantly perceive the rose and ginger, very subtle and yet long-lasting, almost calming, as if they had made it their mission to charm all fragrance worshippers, until the woods march in the drydown. Generally speaking, I don't come across fragrances like this very often; according to the description, it is of the spicy-fresh variety. And I am a gourmand noodle after all. But there is something about it that captivates me, am I just expanding my olfactory senses or does this little water remind me of an experience, an encounter or am I experiencing déjà vu?

I can't help but think of Dad and how wonderfully we used to sing together. Yes, Dad, it's been a long time and you've been gone for so long. The memories are fading, but every time I sing, you are there as if you had never left. Everything is energy, right Dad.

The story of Molton apparently began in 1971 with a hairdressing salon at 58 South Molton Street in London, whereupon new things were constantly created and developed. Definitely a newcomer that I will be subjecting to an in-depth fragrance review.

pink peppery rose
No review on this fragrance?
Well then I'll do that. I'm ehr accidentally got to this fragrance, as an addition to a Vinted order.
The design is really pretty. Also the outer packaging is quite great.
The beginning is fresh, slightly citrusy, spicy due to the pepper. This top note remains and remains and remains... The rose joins very delicately and gives the whole a more feminine note.
Well and then? more does not happen with me. No nutmeg, no ginger... such a pity. Had hoped for more.
Patchouli? Where? I do not smell. The base itself is barely present. I perceive even after hours only pink pepper and rose.
But that's nice. Delicate and unobtrusive. Close to the skin and spreading good mood.
Nice. That's all it is.
The may move on again.
