Joa, somehow not easy... although the scent is so simple..
As a rule, vanilla fragrances and I are in harmony. I know that they are flooding the market at the moment, but I associate winter with vanilla, which is why I wear a lot of fragrances of this type. I came across Une Vanille by Obvious through a consultation in a small perfumery. Basically an exciting concept for this brand: everything is sustainably produced, even the alcohol is obtained from plants (at least that's what I read).
Ultimately, it is precisely this alcohol that makes the fragrance somehow difficult to accept for the first 20 minutes. When spraying it on, you almost have to be careful that it doesn't overwhelm you - the pure disinfection hits you. It's not boozy or anything like that, it's just a bit unpleasant and not at all what you would expect from a vanilla fragrance.
Don't worry: the vanilla is still to come, and after the little disinfection, that's the only note that remains. It is a subtle vanilla, almost sweet and absolutely unobtrusive. Une Vanille is an easily tolerated niche experience for all those who don't need a room filler. It lasts a good 8 hours on me, the sillage was strong for the first hour at most and then levels off.
Une Vanille therefore needs a moment to take effect. I realize for myself that I need the right day to be able to accept the opening. After that I like it, it wears beautifully and unobtrusively to work and you smell yourself every now and then and think: yes, this is vanilla, without corners, without edges..
