Annick Ménardo
Annick Ménardo is one of the greatest personalities in modern perfumery. Born in Cannes, a city that embodies the essence of the French Riviera like no other, she grew up surrounded by the fragrant abundance of blooming landscapes, mineral aromas and salty sea air. This environment shaped her passion for aromas from an early age and awakened her dream of creating fragrances herself.
Her signature is a play of minimalism, depth and sensuality. She favors smoky, dark and velvety notes that give her fragrances expression and character. But what distinguishes her creations above all is her fine sense of contrast: light meets shadow, gentle restraint meets opulent presence. This balance makes her style both special and profound.
Her best-known works include "Hypnotic Poison" by Dior, an oriental fragrance classic, and "Lolita Lempicka", a popular gourmand fragrance. She set a special milestone in the 1990s with "Boss Bottled". Instead of focusing on the typical heavy men's fragrances of the time, she created a surprisingly fresh and spicy composition of apple, cinnamon and vanilla, which set new accents and helped to change the perception of men's fragrances.
Ménardo finds inspiration in art, literature and everyday emotions. She has already collaborated with sculptor Nobi Shioya, for example, which underlines her view of perfume: for her, it is more than just a craft - it is an art form that tells stories and evokes emotions.
