Apricot/raspberry jam
Carvi & Jardin de Figuier is not so much about caraway or fig tree as the name may suggest. It mostly smells like sweet, borderline saccharine apricot/raspberry jam. There isn't much discernable fig, let alone green fig leaves. The flowers are not distinctive, either, and generally serve to enhance the jammy fruity sweetness.

The sillage is relatively close, and the longevity is short of 6 hours. For the price, I think Carvi & Jardin de Figuier is on par with most commercial sweet fruity floral. But it definitely is not a green fig type of fragrance.

I just don't do DELF
My daughter is now quite lively in speaking French and has already got one or two DELF certificates in her pocket, which officially confirm her progress in language acquisition. I, as an old Greek, of course had no idea what "Carvi" is and just looked at her in disbelief when she translated the term for me. Who combines cumin and fig?

I was a bit skeptical before the test, so I completely agree with the esteemed previous speaker. However, at least the opening does not justify the concerns. The fig is much more pronounced - and successful to boot. Immediately there is (how could it be otherwise with the cream lovers at 100BON) something creamy underneath. Maybe almond milk? But at the same time, it also smells somewhat spicy and bitter. And woody. Actually more woody than spicy. I should set aside the thought of cumin.

Let's rather step into the - as mentioned above - familiar 100BON territory: After two hours, the scent is predominantly fruity-creamy. Unfortunately, with a musty undertone that brushes against the rotten. I had previously suspected here and there (e.g., in 'Chambre Noire') that violet (leaf) combined with fruit sometimes develops a spoilage smell. It may be the case today as well.

Surprisingly, the scent takes a turn again. Although it feels like nothing new happens for hours, the remaining fig in the afternoon feels a bit fresher in its cream bed and has shaken off the rot. And since the aforementioned cream has also taken on a milky note, I finally feel as if I have a strange smoothie on my skin. Odd.

I thank Bellemorte for the sample.

Caraway and Fig Garden
Carvi, that is the botanical name for kitchen caraway. And I waited for it with a certain skepticism.

However, the beginning is completely different; it first hits the nose with an alcoholic note, then it becomes very fruity with mandarins and oranges.

After a quarter of an hour, a sweetness emerges that initially leaves me a bit puzzled. But then I realize where I know this sweetness from: When I boil potatoes, I always add some caraway seeds to the cooking water. When the potatoes are done, it smells just like caraway. So there we have the caraway.

An hour later, I think I smell something floral; it could be rose. Wood is also slowly making an appearance. However, it cannot hold on for long, and Carvi & Jardin de Figuier shines with an abundance of flowers.

Two hours later, the flowers are still detectable, but something spicy and peppery is added, and the woodiness also re-emerges.

However, the whole thing seems somewhat artificial to me, and the combination of floral, spicy, and woody even occasionally reminds me of a pipe tobacco I used to smoke. I had imagined the Fig Garden differently.

Carvi & Jardin Figuier did not convince me; while it is not a bad scent, it neither met my expectations of caraway nor of a fig garden.

In my opinion, the fragrance is rather feminine and suitable for cool to warm temperatures. The sillage is rather subtle to skin-close, with a longevity of eight hours.

Before I write a review, my short, first impression statement is that this is a very creamy and sweet (in a fruity way) scent.

Like a fig-scented candle or soap. I think of craft stores where you can find all sorts of knick-knacks. Pleasant, but not a perfume.

Citrusy scent with floral notes: spicy undertones, but somewhat vague regarding the fruits; still quite original.

Sweet, lovely fig, coconut (even though it's not in the pyramid) and mandarins.
Very, very fleeting and close to the skin.

Floral and creamy. It faded away quite a bit in less than 90 minutes.

Maybe a few scents could have been left out, the collection is too large & this one is too underdeveloped. Fig grove in the bistro backyard.

Fig and stuff. Quite nice, pretty sweet, reminds me of scented candles. I didn't notice the cumin.
