Three unspayed cats walk into a nail salon...
The initial cloud was horrifying. If I didn't know better, I'd think that it was trying to kill me. I could pick up bits and pieces of very harsh synthetic rose when I made quick shallow breaths, but breathing anything in was a challenge – I felt like someone was trying to drown me in a vat of nail polish remover.
My partner came home half an hour later and complained about the smell straight from the door. I was still stuck in big toxic cloud of acetone and if I closed my eyes I could practically see it dealing me constant poison damage.
It took about ~2 hours to settle a little bit – still a full room's worth of smell, but now it was more gentle. Like cat piss. It continued to get fainter and fainter from there, but never became any better. Even now as I'm writing this ~8 hours in it's still there on my skin. Softer, but pretty visible and projecting about an arm's length away from me.
I smell like an apartment of a person with 3 unspayed cats. They promise they're taking good care of the animals. They promise it's nice and clean. And it's not that I don't believe them... But I've visited them before. So let's maybe meet on neutral ground this time? Catch up over a cup of coffee and a walk in the park?
I'm sure I could easily get a few more hours out of this thing, but my workday is finally over, so thankfully I don't have to. Whew, I don't think a day of sitting on a chair and staring at a computer screen ever made me anticipate a shower this much before. Gonna give it a bonus half-point for making me treasure the little things in life, lol.
