Cozy, warm, sweet, and spicy
I like this one a lot. It’s obviously geared toward fall and Halloween and it’s really fun for that, but I think it would be sad to relegate it to the shelf for just those times because it has a lot going for it. Right off the bat, this smells like expensive black licorice, which is something I never really would’ve thought I wanted to smell like (I’m mostly ambivalent on black licorice; I would never buy it but I enjoy it enough if someone offers it to me). Just goes to show though, because I can’t stop smelling myself with this one. It’s sweet but not too sweet, and it has the bite of anise and a bit of earthiness to it. It’s lovely and warm. As it wears on, the licorice stays there but gets a bit more mellow and the scent turns a little more sweet, but still strikes me as “adult.” After 4 hours it’s fading, and at 6 hours it’s pretty much entirely gone.

Soon after application, husband sniffed it for a while and then looked at me with eyebrows raised and said “yum.” I asked him to describe it and he said, “Kind of like a high-end mall perfume… like wow that’s really good but I’m not paying THAT much.”

Notes on notes: The black licorice is coming through loud and clear of course; the rest I can’t really distinguish, but I’m not surprised to see oakmoss, cedar tips, patchouli and sandalwood for the earthiness factor, and the other notes there for the sweetness and spice. Will reorder when I run out.

Orange and black
this plays on a black (licorice) and orange (citrus zest) theme. I found this kind of annoying; there’s just so much to be done with a Halloween scent - crunchy leaves, synthetic fog, candy corn, pumpkins. All that said, out of context the scent is decent. Candied orange peel, sweet citrus a la Lira or Devotion with an earthy dry-down.

Black Licorice Delight
Trick or Treat is one of the first oil based scents I tried and it’s one of my very favorite. If you love black licorice or gourmands in particular, you must try it! This somewhat reminds me of a more grown up citrus enhanced version of Pink Sugar. There is a richness and depth here that you just can’t get from an alcohol based perfume. This is sweet but sexy and when I wear it I am sniffing my wrist all day. It’s addictive for sure!

Hamburg. At the fair. By the candy stand. In front of the Salmilollis. Everything edible, nothing artificial.
And then on the Ferris wheel!

Strange gourmand: Similar to P. Roma Acqua e Zucchero, but mossy and almost metallic. Has character.

Soapy-gourmand. Caramel, vanilla, fruits, and tonka with a mossy background. Something feels off here. Somehow it reminds me...

The scent reminds me of fairs, carnivals, and funfairs.
Very sweet, gourmand, with a hint of fruit,
yet it has something mysterious about it.

Gourmand with a spicy touch that adds depth and makes a statement in the jungle of fluffy cotton candy clouds.

The name fits perfectly. Gourmand vanilla meets bitter licorice.

No matter how much candy I bought for Halloween, my daughter brought home double. A full bag of sweets + fresh woodiness.

An unconventional gourmand that dances between roasted almonds, licorice, and cut flowers. That's not bad at all.

Gourmand with a clean character. I almost expected lily of the valley. A creamy feel-good crossover.
