Linen in a Field Of Flowers

Have you seen Howl's Moving Castle? If you haven't, let me tell you about the scene where the magician opens a magical door to a field of flowers. The clouds move slowly across the sky and a gentle breeze moves the grasses and flowers like a soft wave. The lakes are crystalline and peaceful. If you hang your clothes out to dry in this field, that is what this fragrance smells like. Its a little tart and sweet, a clean and very light cotton smell. But its not like laundry soap or over powering in anyway, its all very subtle. The dry down is a light warm musk. This is mainly a skin fragrance but it does project enough that I could catch scent throughout the day. It also lasted about 5 hours. If you love a very light clean, floral, musk fragrance, this is a solid pick especially at $175 for 50ml.

Delicious and clean

Opens with an apple and freesia shampoo vibe and eventually transitions into a lily of the valley and musk fabric softener vibe.

And here’s the thing: yes, it smells like fabric softener or shampoo…but it’s REALLY GOOD fabric softener or shampoo, the kind that makes you turn your head and go, “mmm what’s that?”

The apple is green and natural, the florals are soft and lightly powdery, and the musk and amber gently ground the whole thing. It’s delicious, fresh, and not at all cloying or artificial. It’s very soft and inoffensive, and I mean that in a good way (when did “inoffensive” become a pejorative, anyway?).

Protection and sillage are appropriately soft, and the longevity is surprisingly good for this type of scent (around 8 hours). It’s not just a clean “girl” scent but a clean “person” one — I’d enjoy smelling this on absolutely anyone.

Nice scent, if you don't mind powder

Nice, very clean scent. Smells like powdery, laundry and floral combined - but the powdery part is the strongest to my nose. It's not a juvenile, baby powdery type of powder scent. It's cooler and more mature smelling to me.

Once it starts to dry down I get more florals - but very much on the freesia/lily of valley side of floral. Definitely not cloying. Think flowers in the winter.

Eventually it dries down to a light musk/skin scent.

Very mid-range in terms of longevity and throw on me. It's a very nice scent. Generally inoffensive, but also a touch unique/sophisticated. I consider it a "safe for work scent" (though I don't spray it directly on myself when going to work, I hold it as far out as possible, spritz one or twice then step in it).

A ceramic soap bar

Not sure if the name is fitting, but this is a very sharp, and crisp soap scent. On skin, it smells like straight up soap bar, a fancy one, not drugstore. Very white floral forward and an overall feeling of having really soft, clean skin. I feel like it smells different on fabric and better imo. It still has that soapy touch, but the musk and amber tone down the generic soap smell into something that is creamy and cozier. It lasts all day on clothes and about 5 on skin, not bad, but not beast mode past the first half hour which I felt like it would project a lot more since the opening can be sharp.

Like Freshly Fallen Snow…

CERMAMIC is a cool, soft, powdery-mineral scent veil……transparent-filigree, of utmost softness, milky-white purity, and seductively delicate femininity…..

A porcelain-like skin scent par excellence…..noble, precious, and of intimate fragility……

CERAMIC starts pastel green and subtly fruity…

As for the apple, there is no need for alarm……it is by no means this artificially toxic “Schauma apple shampoo note”……

This apple is more the “idea” of an apple…..wrapped in young, light green foliage, entwined with gossamer freesia blossoms……

A bright, cool musk breeze gently glides through the swirling petals of the heart note and holds them in floating lightness…….

Even the amber in the base remains weightless and merely forms the delicate, transparent backbone of a wonderfully ethereal scent creation……

A fairy scent of a special kind…..nordic-cool, subtly erotic, and soft, like freshly fallen snow…..
