Floating through the forest
Immediate impression after spraying is freesia (gently sweet and juicy, like fresh fruit) cushioned by powdery musk. It’s a hug of an opening, soft and welcoming.
Woody notes start to creep in after about an hour, and eventually settles into a wonderfully soothing skin scent for the next 4-6 hours.
This is the first Andrea Maack fragrance I’ve tried, and I’m impressed at how delicately balanced it is. The freesia lends a natural sweetness (nothing gourmand or cloying here) balanced out by the slight earthiness from the mate, while the cedarwood and musk gently anchor it without bogging it down.
It brings to mind wandering through sun dappled woods in the late spring with small flowers underfoot. A previous review called it “idyllic” and that seems about right — it has an airy, daydreamy quality to it that’s hard to pin down.
I’m not normally into powdery florals (in fact, I generally avoid them) but this is so beautiful that it may very well be going on my full bottle wish list.
