An oriental masterpiece with an outstanding show?
I recently became the proud owner of the ISHQ Special Edition and it is truly amazing how my expectations have been exceeded - I can only agree with the previous speakers!
Fun Fact: The founder and perfumer Asim Al Qassim had actually conceived this fragrance as an exclusive gift for his sister, but after much persuasion he was able to convince her to launch it as a limited edition.
The price of 360 euros may be a little steep for some, but the fact that you get an incredible overall package from the bottle to the fragrance to the performance is definitely worth the extra charge in my opinion.
The packaging alone is really classy and the story behind it is also very beautiful. You'd love to put something like this in your shop window.
When you open it, you are greeted by the handmade gold leaf bottle with a red wax seal. Anfas attaches great importance to this and when you hold the bottle in your hand, it looks very high-quality and heavy.
Sprayed on briefly and the fragrance immediately grabbed me! While ISHQ is based on the concept of MFK - Baccarat Rouge 540 and I'm not too much of a fan of it, as the fragrance unfortunately reminds me of BumBum ice cream, the Special Edition is much more masculine and darker.
The interplay of the six fragrance notes really harmonizes wonderfully. It is not a sticky/sweet fragrance, but rather a fruity and oriental feeling that accompanies the nose. The sweet strawberry is not so strong, but still present and makes you want more - I would inhale the whole 75 ml if it were up to me... As it progresses, I enjoy a pleasant combination of vanilla and amber.
Performance and sillage are really above average, thanks to the increased oil concentration. Personally, I am someone who applies a perfume in the morning or mid-morning to start the day. Over the course of several hours, I was repeatedly approached positively and even asked in the evening which fragrance I would wear. That's something you like to hear.
The ISHQ Special Edition gets a clear buy recommendation from me, even if it was a blind buy for me.
