Adonis is awake !!

So got this looking for a signature rose fragrance….. I get the rose but not strong enough… that being said, I love this scent for what it is! Light, airy, sweet, slightly woody floral scent ( on me at least) . I was looking for a rose as a signature scent didn’t find that rose but found a signature worthy scent none the less!
UPDATE- so after realizing that I had been wiping it off of my wrist due to wearing gloves on and off all day, now that I haven’t worn gloves this stuff lasts on me for a solid 9-10 hours

Buyer Beware!!

DO NOT purchase this is you are currently self battling with narcissism. Once this beautiful, sweet and fruity rose hits your skin you will relapse. Every time I put this on I feel like a brand new man. It’s such a bright scent that from opening to dry down pleases in every way. Excellent projection and sillage, this lasts well over 8 hours on my skin. Perfect for warm weather (today was 83 and partly cloudy) or on cooler days, Adonis Awakens has cemented its spot in my 5 favorite in my collection.

Adonis Awakens: Review 20

The story behind this perfume is the greek god Adonis (the god of beauty and desire) died in a fight against the romans, and Aphrodite (goddess of love) came to help him but cut herself on a rose, bush turning all roses red (naturally being white). She kisses him and he wakes up, making this fragrance represent love and affection.

You really do get that in the fragrance, it smells like Aphrodite just wrapped Adonis in a clean linen sheet and sprinkled him in rose petals (floral and not jammy.) You get a slight grassy aspect too - the bottle design of the perfume very accurately representing the smell. It’s bright, very clean, and gives you a super alluring and vitalizing aura. Don’t smell too up close tho it kinda gets funky. Enjoy how it diffuses off your skin. Its performance is amazing!!

A very special fragrance , the combination of notes creates a harmony really out of the ordinary : jasmine , The Rose , vanilla , chestnut , make it a sweet , creamy , opulent perfume , a bit like the red roses that , according to legend , from white became this color staining themselves with the blood of Aphrodite who , running to Adonis dead during a hunting trip , was wounded by the thorns . The kiss of the Goddess will bring him back to life , and that is how precisely The Red Rose symbolizes love .
And we have here the sweetness , among the roses, of the "Awakening of Adonis" painted by Warerhouse .

A sweet, fruity, jammy rose fragrance that isn't for me.

Personal: 5/10 – A rich, jammy rose. I appreciate what it is, but I don't like it at all.
Mass appeal: 7/10 – Sweet, fruity, rosy fragrances can feel romantic and elegant, but they’re also polarizing, especially for people who don’t like heavy florals. Like me.
Performance: 8/10 – Strong projection and solid longevity. This one performs like you'd expect.
Value: 5/10 – Argos pricing is luxury-niche tier, and while it smells high quality, you really have to love jammy, syrupy rose to justify the cost.
Uniqueness: 7.5/10 – A very polished, luxurious take on a sweet, syrupy rose. It's very well polished, but this is a heavily trodden path for DNAs.

SCORE: 65/100

Full bottle buy? NO, I actively dislike the syrupy rose in this bottle.
Blind buy? NO, rose is too polarizing to risk at this price.
Recommend? YES, if you love bold, fruity, very sweet rose scents.
Date night? YES, if you AND your partner love rose. It’s romantic and attention-grabbing.
Office safe? NO, too heavy, sweet, and floral for professional wear.

Pros: Luxurious presentation, jammy rose richness, strong performance. Gorgeous bottle too.
Cons: Too rose-heavy for my taste, expensive, not versatile. May turn sour on some skin.

Adonis Awakens feels like Argos trying to create the ultimate luxurious rose fragrance with a bold, sweet, fruity presence, with citrus and woods, wrapped around a soft musky base. I really do like what they were *trying* to do, but the core issue for me is that I just can't get over rose fragrances like this. It's too sweet, and to my nose very cloying, for me to appreciate. I wore it once and hated the entire 8h it was strong on my skin. I understand why some may like it, and on others I may even like it too, but I just can't deal with it on my skin.

I appreciate it in small amounts, but I don't care to wear it, or really even smell it. That said, I don't hate it. I do respect it, but at a distance.
