Pleasant Yellow Floral
New for 2020 from B&BW is this yellow floral called Golden Sunflower.
This is a pleasant little yellow floral fragrance with notes of sunflower and orange blossom. It definitely has a "yellow colour fragrance" about it although I cannot say I know how "sunflower" smells. I can only tell you it has a nice floral opening, and soon enough, I can detect orange blossom albeit NOT a high quality orange blossom. The deep dry down is an orange blossom vanilla that is only borderline gourmand. It seems to come and go as the hours pass, and in that respect it reminds me of the way Guerlain's Double Vanille also seems to disappear but then suddenly wafts upward over and over again.
Projection and sillage are average at best, but with several sprays, longevity is unexpectedly impressive. I applied in the evening around 10:30 and could still smell it quite distinctly on my arm 12 hours later.
I like Golden Sunflower, but I cannot say it is special in any way. I do not try to compare these body sprays to higher priced EdT's and EdP's, but in terms of other body sprays, this one is nice enough and very wearable if you like these notes. I think B&BW has some much nicer body sprays, though, e.g. Sensual Amber, Black Amethyst, Dark Kiss, Cashmere Glow, and another yellow floral that I think is far superior to Golden Sunflowers albeit totally misnamed, Twilight Woods.
I think men could wear this as well as women, although women will likely gravitate toward it more than men will do. Golden Sunflower could be worn in virtually any setting. It is a nice, safe scent.
Compared to other body sprays, especially to other B&BW body sprays, I would rate Golden Sunflower as follows.
Fragrance: 5.5/10
Projection: 5/10
Sillage: 5/10
Longevity: 7/10
Presentation: 6/10
