Way Too Sweet

I used to love this fragrance, I had a small bottle that I wore a lot. Something changed with my nose, maybe I just got older, but now I hate it. To me, it's just far too sweet and heavy. It's sort of a sickeningly sweet, rich scent that turns my stomach. I love gourmands and sweet scents but something about it is too much. I smelled it on someone else one time and it smelled wonderful, so perhaps it's just me.

Great gourmand

I love Strawberry Pound Cake. It is such a good, sweet gourmand. A vanilla pound cake with a nice cream icing topped with strawberries. It is simple but effective. It is a bit synthetic but not in a bad way- more like you store bought the cake because you didn't want to spend the time baking a cake. I am a gourmand lover, and B&BW can really do a good gourmand when they want to. It is a FFM, so the longevity isn't the best. Unlike some other reviewers, it doesn't disappear immediately for me. I can usually smell it for a couple hours. I think the sillage is buildable, if you'd like to leave a trail- just know that it won't last very long. As said, a few hours at best. I do wish it lasted longer, but it is just a spray. I REALLY wish they'd release this in an actual perfume. I would buy more than one. It makes a great quick errand run or before bed scent.

One of the most iconic scent ever

I just remember seeing that body mist all over pinterest, not every countries in Europe has access to Bath&Body Works so this was my first fragrance !

I really enjoy it, even how heavy it can be, I feel like I'm never really having enough. After the body mist, I directly bought the body lotion ! It's like, the perfect strawberry cupcake scent. It's super sweet, really heavy gourmand/ buttery with a synthetic strawberry. But it doesn't really matter how synthetic it is, the final product is more than amazing.

Loved it before :(

This scent reminds me of fall/winter 2021 when I was starting my senior year of high school. I loved this so much and I'd always get it. My friend even complimented me and was shocked to find out it was strawberry poundcake because she hated how sweet it was... It all changed until someone said it smelled like dark yellow pee mixed in with sugar at a public restroom stall. Ever since that day happened, I stopped liking it. It smells completely different than how it smelled before. What a shame. RIP Strawberry Poundcake 2021-2021...

Use the Hand Cream!

A friend introduced this gem to me via the hand sanitizer. Another time, I applied some body spray in the store and not even an hour later, could not bear it. This is because the brand-wide Bath and Body works liquid base formula of their body sprays is very disagreeable to me. So the best way to experience the delicious scent of Strawberry Pound Cake is by the hand cream. This is the thick lotion coming in the small metal tubes, looking like paint tubes. It is also very affordable when it is on sale and I got one for under $3 in the USA!

Why do I love it? first of all the strawberry is not fake or cloying, the strawberry is red, sweet, and glazed like a real dessert. The better part to me is the actual cake portion - the pound cake. This cake is yellow, a little bit crumbly, a little bit salty, (yes, I can smell the saltiness) with some butter and toasted wheat.

I don't particularly want to smell like this, but I want to smell IT. I've worn it to bed using the affordable but potent cream on my hands and arms. Not sure this would layer or combine well with any other scents but is a satisfying experience all on it's own.
