Sensual Amber + chocolate = Chocolate Amber
I'm so happy I had the opportunity to sample this old B&BW Eau de Toilette. I wish they still made matching perfumes for more of their scents, not just body mists.

Chocolate Amber smells very much like Sensual Amber with added chocolate. I'm not talking about the old EDT, I have never tried that, but I have the lotion and shower gel. It's a warm, sweet amber with a lot of patchouli that reminds me of a mix of Flowerbomb and Jimmy Choo EDP. There is also something slightly orangey about it, even though the notes list doesn't indicate it. Chocolate Amber takes this base and puts some dark chocolate and a slightly smokey note on top. I could do without the smokiness, but I could imagine that it's amplified because of the age of the fragrance. Otherwise it's a very nice scent that is perfect for autumn and winter daytime wear. Not too heavy, not too light, great for layering with all things Sensual Amber.

Gourmand for Gourmets - and for Junkies
I am a junkie.
A perfume junkie - my collection speaks volumes about that.
A coffee junkie - I must be, to get through the day in at least a semi-conscious state.
And a chocolate junkie. I could give up any food if necessary, but never chocolate.
May heaven forbid that a chocolate allergy or similar misfortune ever sneaks into my life.

Sometimes, however, it is simply too warm to eat chocolate. Just like today and the last few days.
Then I like to reach for chocolate in fragrant form and kill two addiction birds with one stone.
So this morning, I chose "Chocolate Amber," one of the tastiest chocolate scents I have come across so far.

However, "chocolate scent" is not really the right term, as it suggests a rather one-dimensional, chocolatey candidate for the cold, dark season, a composition in the beloved-hated "Angel" style.

"Chocolate Amber," on the other hand, starts off much fruitier, much more summery, much less cloying with distinctly delicious pineapple and berry notes that initially remain separate from all other components.
The impression is natural and refreshing, the sweetness restrained - no fruit basket, no ice cream sundae, but also no ice-cold fruits.

Very slowly, the scent impression transforms - dark honey adds warmth and sweetness, the bouquet of the finest chocolate unfolds and wonderfully merges with the still-present fruits, while the flowers are barely detectable in the background.
Minute by minute, the composition becomes spicier - I suspect cardamom and cinnamon, although these are not listed - and more complex, sensual, and mature.
Orchid and patchouli provide depth, a hint of dark vanilla completes the overall impression.

Very erotic - but it is not an intrusive, screaming, provocative eroticism; it does not throw itself at every neck, certainly does not rip anyone's clothes off.
Naturalness, sensuality, joy of enjoyment. For a whole long day, for myself and the people around me - "Chocolate Amber" shows presence without retreating from my side, and lasts until the shower the following morning with only minor losses.

Mature, bitter dark chocolate with summery fruits. Plus, spicy vanilla-honey with lots of patchouli. Light sweetness. Dark + sensual.
