Nostalgic and Cozy
I just found the bottle of this my grandma got for me in roughly 2011 (along with a tub of the matching body lotion) and it's EXACTLY how I remember. It's a sweet, cozy vanilla that takes me back to thinking I was starting to become super mature at the ripe age of 10 because a. my mom was finally letting me shave my legs and I used this lotion to moisturize after and b. I would wear the body spray to school and I thought I was so cool for having a "signature scent". The potency just really isn't there but this is a really great fragrance for layering.

Comparing original formula vs. most recent version
Warm Vanilla Sugar is tied to many memories for me - my best friend wore it growing up, so I always associate it with her.

I recently re-tested Warm Vanilla Sugar and was amazed to see how much of a "play doh" feel this body mist has. It was a fresh batch, recently sold in stores - so it wasn't a matter of spoiling. I've heard others also referring to a "play doh" note in Warm Vanilla Sugar, but this wasn't how I remembered it from when my friend wore this fragrance - so I wanted to try an older version, to see how it compared.

When testing an older bottle (tapered and textured neck, with the specific product name of "body splash" instead of "fine fragrance mist"), the top notes had turned already. But this spoiled opening faded quickly, and I was left with the fragrance composition I'd remembered: beautiful vanilla bourbon and brown sugar. Warm, enveloping, sugary-sweet vanilla.

There might have been a hint of the "play doh" feeling in the OG formula, but it isn't at all like the formulation available in stores today - instead it almost felt like the aftertaste of molasses, or taking in a deep breath of a jar of brown sugar (with the sticky molasses undertones that often come with brown sugar). Testing them side by side, I couldn't believe how much more synthetic and "clay-like" the latest version seemed.

Although this isn't a new thought, I wish Bath and Body Works didn't change their formulas over time - why change a good thing?

P.S. If you want a dupe of the latest Warm Vanilla Sugar formula but in a stronger EDP concentration, check out Signature - Rare Vanilla Blossom .

A good daily vanilla
I didn't expect to reach for this so often but I now see the whole set with the lotion, body cream and hand sanitiser as essential basics in my collection. Even though I wear Brit for Women Eau de Toilette as my signature work scent, I would smell mostly of Warm Vanilla Sugar as I wear the lotion and use the hand sanitiser constantly.

The scent is like a deep creamy vanilla (hence can also seem mature and suitable for older ages)- not really like sugar. I think all the notes besides coconut come through. I wouldnt think coconut was in here at all tbh. I actually prefer the lotions to the body spray as the spray does have a strongly alcoholic opening so it's not really enjoyable to apply.

Classic Love
I love Warm Vanilla Sugar. I used to wear this a lot in high school and after I graduated. It is such a warm, inviting vanilla. It is such a classic B&BW scent. I usually have one FFM in my collection at all times. It's a perfect cozy scent. I love vanilla fragrances, and I have several, but I always come back to this and reach for it. I'd say the longevity is fine for a mist, and you can get a decent sillage from it. I actually love this as a go to bed fragrance. It is nostalgic, warm, sweet, with just a touch of powder. A favorite of mine. It's also excellent for layering.

nostalgic, but no staying power
I told myself I wouldn't buy this one because it seemed so weak when I tested it in the store... and yet, here I am, with a bottle of the mist now. I did also buy the lotion. but the mist... really has no staying power. it is so fleeting. part of why I bought it was to compare it to Pink - Glazed Warm & Cozy, which has a coconut sugar note, which made me think of this, so I wanted to do a comparison. I was right on it, but it's sad this mist lasts for nothing, even on clothes. I didn't have the mist when I was younger, I had a soap or... something. this still smells the same to me as it did back then, generally. though the mist, of course, does have that alcohol smell, and pretty strongly so. I bought this on sale, so I paid a fine price, but I couldn't recommend buying it unless you don't mind something as incredibly fleeting as this. that all said, I can recommend the lotion. though I'd recommend smelling in store if at all possible.

Strong vanilla essence smell. Good basic layering fragrances. I have the lotions/creams to do this.

I love it, I always catch myself going to back to this body spray or using it to amplify the vanilla note when wearing a vanilla perfume.
