Over the past year or two, I've noticed that there are fragrances I use more often than others. This doesn't mean that these fragrances are better than the others, but rather that they resonate with me more. Why this is the case, I will discuss with my therapist. Apparently, one can still learn something about oneself. However, I have noticed that some of these frequently used fragrances were created by Nathalie Lorson. So I was quite curious about this new scent from her and what it would do to me.
Unpacking and the first reach for the bottle already brought me joy, as the bottle has a quite nice feel to it. It’s a hefty block without any frills and fits well in the hand. The cap reminds me of tires due to its ribbed texture. Then it gets exciting; the first spray comes. Immediately, I am greeted by aquatic freshness. I want to describe it exactly like that, as there is an immediate similarity to Voyage by Nautica. Then the top note drifts slightly into a citrusy-green territory.
As the fragrance slowly glides through its spectrum, the similarity to Voyage remains in my mind. It exudes a cheerful freshness, very youthful. However, as it develops, Momentum takes a different path. It becomes a bit more floral with a slight woodiness. It remains fresh and cheerful until the end. Even after hours, I can perceive the scent of a bloom on my skin, very nice.
Momentum is not a fragrance that impresses at first glance. It is not spectacular, it is not innovative. It is nice. It is simple and uncomplicated. Really uncomplicated. No major leap in a new direction. Yet for mainstream, it is quite sustainable. The right choice to brighten one's mood on a dreary day, a good go-to scent and definitely unisex. Those looking for a fresh, natural aquatic at a reasonable price will find it here. I had hoped for more.
And my therapist says I want my life to be simple and uncomplicated with a bloom to conclude. So, Momentum fits.
