For Him Absolute, only better?
I tested a fragrance again and am writing a bit about my impressions.
3 sprays in the left elbow crease.
In the beginning was the word and the word was spices = the top note - the first 30 minutes -
Coriander and ambrette seed absolute are very prominent but only close to my skin.
There’s nothing exciting for me, and I don’t smell the incense right away either.
Spices are the trump card in the top note, and the spices used are not the "nicest".
What comes next, however, is the best part of the fragrance - the heart note and the base note.
But first to the heart note:
Iris absolute, cashmere wood, tonka bean is really well balanced;
soft, warm, and a touch avant-garde, and it smells a bit more luxurious than Bentley For Men Absolute, and look, the incense joins in very finely. Very noble.
Yes, the ingredients in the heart note are totally different from the two mentioned perfumes, but they smell very similar to my nose.
The base note:
Bourbon vetiver, orcanox (another name/company for ambroxan), labdanum, musk, patchouli
Also very noble and long-lasting.
Longevity: +12 hours on my skin, even after showering, the fragrance is still very lightly perceptible.
Update 12.06.2020: The bottle is very high quality, heavy (422 g including perfume), and I absolutely love it.
My fragrance was produced in February 2019.
Conclusion: For those who don’t like spices, or better, don’t like coriander and ambrette seeds: Don’t be put off by the top note.
The heart and base notes are much better than the opening.
With this fragrance, I would have expected more projection/sillage. Even though the spices in the top note are not really my thing, the fragrance overall is a well-made eau de parfum.
I prefer Bentley Majestic Cashmere over Bentley For Men Absolute.
Definitely test before blind buying, then it’s not a blind buy anymore.
It’s not for everyone.
