Beso de Fuego Beso Beach 2024

Beso de Fuego is a very interesting perfume. It opens with that familiar Morillas leather note, the one I also get in Gucci Guilty Absolute and Zara Elevated Oud, mixed with a woody forest-like vibe and a very strong hit of cardamom. There is also a slightly smoky impression from the leather accord, but nothing too challenging if you are into this style of fragrance. Quite strong at first, then after a bit, something more unusual comes in. To me it smells like a mix of shaving foam and the powderiness of eye makeup, which instantly reminded me of childhood and specifically my mum’s makeup bag. That part makes it feel quite unique and not really designer-like. Creative, a bit strange, and definitely memorable.

... I get ready to go out. So first, into the shower. After I come out of the cubicle, I dry myself off. I go into the bedroom with my Adonis body, where I have already laid out jeans, a white shirt and shoes for the bar. I get dressed and, before buttoning up the shirt, I apply this fragrance. I go to the apartment door, take my old, beloved, worn-in smoky leather jacket and slip it on. I grab my apartment key and set off.

When applying this fragrance, the first thing that reaches the nose is a peppery, spicy, smoky scent. In the background, it has a slight citrus freshness with a floral twist. Woody green accords mix in, and something leathery emerges, making this perfume mature and masculine.

The longevity and sillage are good.

Here we have a fragrance house from Barcelona that has launched a not entirely everyday perfume, a unisex fragrance. Due to its leathery masculine aspect, however, I see this more on the gentleman than on the ladies. I also see this as suitable for those aged 25 and over. For my nose and me, this is an all-rounder for the entire year. It works during the day at the office, at a meeting, meeting friends or shopping just as well as in the evening at the opera, in the theatre, at dinner, in a bar, in a club or at a party.

Anyone who likes a peppery, smoky, spicy, slightly citrus-fresh, woody, green, leathery, mature and masculine fragrance will be in good hands here and should take a closer look at it, it is worth it. The bottle has something about it and the price is acceptable.

I have always been looking for a perfume that has a certain heaviness but still doesn’t cause headaches. Here, smoke comes into play - for me, a far-fetched idea combined with perfume. And at the same time, there’s a creaminess (no, not cloyingly sweet like Nivea). A hint of cardamom perfectly rounds everything off! The scent is best the next day when you can still catch a whiff of it on the cuff of your sweater or the collar of your jacket. I keep sniffing and am happy. Or maybe my nose is. You never really know. ;-)
