Perfect for women who wear purple houndstooth boiled wool suits and pink hats
Bond no 9 CENTRAL PARK WEST is a *very* strong floral perfume. That's right: perfume, not eau de toilette or eau de parfum. So that's the first important point. I have worn this creation now about four times but have barely made any inroads at all into my purse spray. I'm not complaining, mind you. In an age of dilute juice with cologne longevity being fobbed off as eau de parfum, Bond no 9 is providing lots of big sillage and excellent longevity.

These are only welcome, however, in the case of CENTRAL PARK WEST, if you happen to appreciate Big Fat Floral Fragrances. This is not a joke. If you have any issue with white flowers or big sillage, you'll want to stay very far away. You'd be much better off with your genteel Jo Malones and L'Artisan Parfumeurs, all traces of which evaporate within the course of two hours (at least on my skin...).

I initially did not like this perfume. It seemed like a product of Lego perfumery--perhaps a mixture of SAKS FOR HER and HARRODS ROSE. The flowers here are so strong individually: gardenia and narcissus loom very large, but there's also jasmine and ylang. Not for the faint-hearted. This almost has a 1980s vibe, in fact.

CENTRAL PARK WEST is about as far from CENTRAL PARK as a composition could possibly be, but when I look at the bottle in which CENTRAL PARK WEST is housed, it all begins to make sense. Doesn't that purple houndstooth smack of middle-aged women of leisure sporting St. John or Chanel suits? Think about it. And then there's the pink hat, which goes perfectly as a topper to those boiled wool jackets.

Now that I've figured out how strong this perfume is, I am more favorably disposed toward it. But it is very floral and there is a kind of yellowish powdery feeling, imparted perhaps by the narcissus. I love narcissus, but here it is really ramped up by the gardenia to an almost megaphonic level.

This creation is a part of a recent cluster of überfloral perfumes launched by Bond no 9, and it fits in well with I LOVE NY FOR EARTH DAY, which, against my expectations, is a big powdery tuberose perfume (how many guys bought that one, thinking that it would be something along the lines of CENTRAL PARK? I wonder...). SAG HARBOR, too, is a part of this bunch, packing a mighty punch of peony.

At this stage, I think that it's safe to say that I'm still somewhat ambivalent about CENTRAL PARK WEST. The more I think about it, there is almost a Giorgio-esque quality to this bouquet of superstrong flowers--although I do find that they smell natural here.

I'll try CENTRAL PARK WEST again in the fall or wintertime...

Tacky
I seldom write a negative review but this scent is a "scrubber". I could not wash it off fast enough. Of course, I am not a fan of white flowers unless they are creamy and in combination with a bouquet of something else, flowery or powdery.

"Central Park West" has some industrial smell to it, like glycerin. Cannot accept anything of it.

The design is rather tacky, too. The Rose adornment at the bottleneck was fitting with "Madison Square Park" and that was original, but to pair it again with a purple hound stock pattern is an aberration of taste.

Not for me.

Caution! Green and Greasy!
Nothing is as useless that it cannot still serve as an experience.
This also applies to "Central Park West by Bond No. 9".
CPWvBN9 starts with a biting green plastic smell, somehow my stomach is revolting. But I can endure this, I haven’t eaten dinner, nothing can happen.
This stuff is definitely an appetite suppressant. With something like this in my nose, I could never eat anything.
On my skin, after spraying, a greasy film has formed. A sharp sour smell mixes with a synthetic scent. I even suspect something like daffodil and gardenia made of plastic. And then again and again this disgusting greasy smell, sometimes with vanillin of the most synthetic kind.
I rummage through my memories and far away, a long time ago, in the mid-50s, the interiors of VWs smelled like this. I found it disgusting as a child.
Yes, and rightly so. Lavieenrose, something is missing! Namely the smell of gasoline, which mixed back then with the plastic smell of the post-war VWs in the interior.
My grandma, bless her, always had a vomit bag for me....
The bottle? Oh, I think taste is debatable, unfortunately. But because it always revolves around a false question, nothing meaningful ever comes out of it.
The bottle is then also the most beautiful in my opinion. Even if the design does not follow the Bauhaus principle: form follows function.
Here, a regular hand grease press in green would be the functional design.
Longevity and sillage? Unimportant, who really wants to know that precisely when you want to wash it off as quickly as possible. And I will do that immediately.

Flower Explosion
I waited a week for the Bond package - and I ordered it in the neighboring town!
I could have walked there faster, taking a leisurely stroll.
I was on pins and needles because I want to gift the Park on April 1st - plus it was a blind order - and I was very curious.
But what can I say - the wait was worth it.

Even the first, tentative spray explodes on my skin.
For me, it shouldn't rain red roses - but radiant yellow daffodils!
These Easter bells don't chime softly, but create a sonorous ringing.
Far-reaching and melodic, like the carillon in our church tower.
The gardenias are also in full bloom - dusted by the iris.
White jasmine shines alongside - nicely sweetened by the linden blossom?
This floral frenzy is cushioned with tree moss and vetiver.

Central Park West is no wallflower and makes a consistently sweet - floral statement, and I like its clear stance.

It has a positively Bond-like vibe - and suits the optimistic birthday child.
Reapplying is unnecessary, as the longevity is enormous.
I am looking forward to the feedback.

P.S. The houndstooth star with the striking pink flower is, of course, an eye-catcher.

Something is missing
First of all, an incredible floral bouquet, stunning - for those who like it.
What I miss in the perfume is a certain depth, a kind of three-dimensional body that unfolds. Some kind of elegance - not present.
Given everything I heard about Bond fragrances - and considering the price - I expected more.
It was not the hoped-for "kaleidoscope" for the nose - after a while, I found this scent to be just sweet, too overpoweringly loud, and almost sticky.

Is the Central Park located in the tropics recently? White flower overdose that kills all other notes. Too much!

A stunning white flower orgy with green-spicy accents. Loud, somewhat shrill, and a bit cloying. You have to be able to wear it.

Here you have striking flowers on the nose. Especially gardenia in the deluxe version. A very feminine scent. Watch out for the dosage!

Very floral. I could have sworn there was peach in it. On the right woman or properly dosed, it’s definitely great...

Reminds me of the aroma of those ice candies... Sweet and a bit artificial. No naturally scented flowers. Yet somehow appealing...

Biting-green-sharp-sour plastic smell, good appetite suppressant + cheap plastic tuberose + green-greasy feeling + scent, extra synth. vanillin.
