The Fruit Juice Gummy Bear with Flowers in Its Hair
The name for this Eau de Parfum comes from Polianthes tuberosa. The heavy-floral, sweet scent reminiscent of Ylang Ylang from the Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) has inspired generations of perfumers.
Now, in the list of fragrance notes, alongside the Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang, Gardenia, Tiara, and Jasmine are also included. None of these are known for being wallflowers.
Shortly after the first spray, my initial impression was: fruity-sweet, sweet oranges. It smells like a flavor mask in medications intended for children. I had smelled something similar in an antibiotic that my daughter had to take in syrup form.
Fortunately, the fruity sweetness is quickly tempered at the start by Vetiver, wood, and incense. This allows me to smell not only fruit but also flowers. Polianthes does not undergo a developmental progression, which I do not see as a disadvantage. It fits well here.
Overall, a beautiful fruit-flower-gourmand scent. Unfortunately, it is too sweet for me. The inclusion of at least 6 pieces of sugar cubes would have been fine with me. But unfortunately, Maurizio Lembo stirred it up.
The longevity is comparable to sweet juices that stick to you, very good.
