since 1803
Buly is an established brand in the field of skincare and perfumery with a long history. It was founded in Paris in 1803 by Jean-Vincent Buly, who was not only a perfumer but also a distiller and cosmetician. He opened a small perfumery on Rue Saint-Honoré, which soon became known for its fragrances and skincare products.
Over the years, Buly's range has expanded to include skin care products and cosmetics. Despite this growth, Jean-Vincent Buly has retained the artisanal approach to his products and continues to follow the working methods of apothecaries.
One of his innovations was a versatile vinegar that had medicinal and cosmetic applications and enjoyed great popularity. This “Vinaigre de Toilette” received awards at the World's Fairs of 1867 and 1878. It quickly became a bestseller and was considered a classic beauty product of its time.
In the 19th century, Paris was the center of beauty and perfumery, and Buly was one of the most famous perfumeries. The city inspired the founders of L'Officine Universelle Buly, Victoire de Taillac and Ramdane Touhami, who launched a modern reinterpretation of the brand in 2014.
L'Officine Universelle Buly has made a name for itself internationally and is represented by numerous boutiques and counters worldwide, including in Paris, Kyoto, London, and other cities. Each store is uniquely designed and inspired by the culture of its respective city. In 2022, Buly opened its first boutique in Germany, not far from the Grand Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich.
Each product is packaged in handmade, nostalgically inspired containers designed to capture the charm of bygone eras. In 2021, the brand became part of the LVMH Group.
