Creamy clean synthetic
I don't really get the hate on this one. Maybe in the opening it smells a little bit too synthetic and that might push some people off, but if you let it dry down for 10 minutes, it will start to do its magic.
For me, it's the perfect synthetic, creamy, clean scent that I've been looking for. It's very long lasting and the dry down it's amazing. It tends a little bit on the feminine side, but that's no problem for me.
It's also a very good perfume enhancer for layering.

Enemy Contact.
Even the first spray makes all the hairs on my neck stand on end…!! The enemy does not hesitate. He goes straight for the attack..!!

A concentrated blast of synthetic wood mercilessly drills into my nostrils, my skin, and my brain.

Actually, I’m already done for.

I have nothing to counter this overwhelming onslaught of Cashmeran, Ambroxan, AmberXtreme, Sinfonide, Operanide, and whatever else they might be called. Not even my genuine intention to face the chemical club with some openness is enough.

MUSC OLI is pure horror for my nose.

Doomsday.

The "fragrance" super disaster.

Here we have the chemical club in its purest form. All the scent notes that ruin many of the new releases are united here in a single, dreadful inferno.

MUSC OLI perfectly embodies (in my opinion) the zeitgeist of perfumery. Soulless, cold, unfriendly, and chemically stereotypical. One can hardly believe that this house once produced a century fragrance like Tabac Blond Eau de Parfum.

MUSC OLI corresponds exactly to the "scent trail" that one currently perceives in every NEW YORKER, H&M, MÜLLER, etc. The eternally lingering, biting base of so many current fragrances.

And since this is the case, I am sure that MUSC OLI will also find its admirers. Probably even numerous ones.

PS: 0.5 points are only given because "0" is not an option.

Transcending Space and Time
What happens when one transcends reality?
The urge to overcome the tangible and to be able to create new worlds found its artistic expression in the works of Salvador Dalí.
He also assisted in the design of a famously notorious ball by Baroness Marie-Hélène de Rothschild in 1972.

The young Olivia de Rothschild collaborated with Caron's house perfumer, Jean Jacques, to encapsulate her surreal journey in a fragrance.

Sizzle!

Frère Jacques, dear Jean, here you present a surreal interpretation of a Chypre.
A bold statement on my part - I know - which I will attempt to substantiate as follows. I will not name the individual chemical components; I will let the scent impressions guide me.

The opening evokes - this word will be a motif throughout the entire fragrance journey - Hesperides. A certain neon yellow freshness pricks for a few minutes.

The transition glides further neon yellow into an overstated notion of floral.
A supernatural, sharp, and “spicy” indole shifts pearly white and rose metallic, with occasional chitinous green speckles scattered about.
The freshness of the opening permeates everything.

Carried by the dimension-busting chimera of sweet artistic musk. It will replace the missing moss and wood.
The atomic flash leaves the spectral tree devoid of earthly life, transferring the idea of it into the clean sweet molecule.

Here in the imagined center, the convergence of all levels, the precious opal is at its most iridescent, all color nuances sparkle, glide, and penetrate.
A true ride of the soul.

Towards the end, the fragrance reconciles with that very musk, sweet opal blue.
It is also the most beautiful phase of this creation.
It soothes, allows the experience to settle, caresses.

At this point, I would like to conclude my review, so as not to raise or dampen the expectations of others too much.
This path taken by the house will have to be discussed anyway.

The fragrance sent an electric shiver through my body while listening to the song “Hechizo” by Héroes del Silencio.
The Spanish lines describe it aptly.

Enjoy the opal!

Cool Distance
Like many other users, I always read about Musk OIL upon its release; whether this was a thought process that matched my expectations, I can no longer say for sure in hindsight.
Ultimately, I approached the fragrance completely unbiased.
Anyone who associates this perfume with cream, powder, sweetness, cotton clouds, citrus, or even cuddle moments will be disappointed with the first spray.

It comes across as cool and distant. Ice-cold like a mountain stream.
Just as the bottle images convey. The marketing motto hits the mark.
This scent is completely different.
I still hear some voices criticizing: sounds like a chemistry kit, from the lab, etc. Where else would it come from?
The times when animals suffer for, among other things, human luxury products or other concerns should belong to the past; please don’t tell me that perfumes labeled as natural and marketed as such are generally made entirely from natural ingredients. Exceptions may confirm the rule.
Musc OIL hits you right in the face. Like the gong of an old grandfather clock, dull but penetrating.
A brief association with ship planks pops into my head.
Without warning and without further transformation, it is there. And it stays there.
This perfume, on its own, undergoes no development for me and fulfills exactly what I hoped for from the descriptions on the Caron website.
With this musk, a whole new world of layering opens up for me.
Suddenly, it is present, revealing itself, depending on the base scent, sometimes soft and cuddly or hard and somewhat aggressive. It seems to enter into a well-functioning symbiosis with the base scent and does not radiate parallel to the initially applied fragrance.
Many of my fragrances associated with the feminine, which can sometimes be a bit too agreeable for me, receive a hotshot from it and suddenly become completely transformed-rocky, hard, or even robust; in any case, they noticeably change.
If that is too little for the invested money, one should linger on the bottle.
There’s nothing to say, it is beautiful.
There is one flaw, though: the emblem on the front center is only glued on and was already slightly detached at one corner when it arrived. That should be handled differently at this price.

Creamy, clean and synthetic. Very long lasting. Amazing dry down. Very good as standalone, also perfect for layering.

Opens artificially fresh & "spicy".
Develops artificially "citrusy" & "clean".
Ends "ambroxanic".
Molecular vs Tradition.
Color fits.

A loveless collection of modern aroma chemistry. Cold, clinical, aseptic, uninviting, and without any charm. Not a perfume for me...

Musk-like (Cashmeran), creamy, oily, slightly sharp, woody (artificial sandalwood note), sweet: What did Caron want to tell us with this?

I like synthetic scents, but they have to be either good, funny, or unusual for me. None of that applies here.

Caron? Really? Maybe an experiment. Synthetic mix with a strong wood note + bitter freshness. Not a flagship for Caron.

Caron, modern or not -
loving you is hard for me.
One note gives off a sort of
chlorine smell. Plus, there's a sweet-synthetic musk.

Weightless, floating, clean, cool, and elusive. Transparent like a dragonfly over crystal-clear water. Futuristically beautiful.
