Direction Oud Maracuja
Now that I've reported on the Art of Nature II, the first one must of course also be here. This I is already extremely overshadowed by the number II, which is probably also due to the type of fragrance, as this sweet gourmand direction simply reaches more people and is also much more appealing. Anyone who likes this mix of oriental oud-leather-spice with a nice bright fruit mix could find a great fragrance here. The two similar fragrances Oud Maracujá and Ajwad Pink to Pink are rightly registered as similar fragrances, but this fragrance is independent and not too close to these fragrances to be called a dupe. Oud passion fruit fans in particular should not get their hopes up too high and should not have their expectations too high. The fruity notes are much more present and other fruity notes have also been chosen here. This slight Ombre Nomade vibe is not present here either.

Similar to the Art of Arabia II, the packaging is in shiny gold and quite flashy. However, the contents are very modest, as this desert image looks rather cheap. It's not completely bad, but high-quality and serious is something else. But as it is: the fragrance counts and the flawless spray, at least in the low-budget price range.
As I said, the scent is a great twist of juicy fruit and an oud-like oriental. I really like the fruit mix. The notes from the pyramid are all present and are easy to smell. Blackcurrant has a great slightly sour vibe and together with the fig, this fruity note is really good and doesn't come across as too run-of-the-mill. Plum and rhubarb are also present in the opening. Rhubarb is also very active and is slightly reminiscent of Encelade by Barrois. Plum is the least perceptible of the fruits, but is subtle in the background. This fruity DNA is quickly joined by a rose-oud combo with soft leather. This oriental combo is also perceptible in the top note and sits perfectly under the fruit. Later, this combo gains the upper hand when the fruity notes subside somewhat. However, the DNA of the top note does not change too much. The base then becomes a little sweeter and more sensual with some vanilla & amber + this already present oriental mix including leather. All in all, a great mix of pleasing fruit and the oriental mix. Not everyone will like it, but it is original and has character.
Performance is quite good as usual for this type of fragrance. This fragrance is particularly suitable for leisure time and accompanies the wearer with an interesting, unique mix. The minimum lasts for 8 hours with good sillage over a longer period of time.

Not an oud passion fruit dupe in my eyes, but if you like this kind of fruit oud, you can give this fragrance a try. A modern mix that I personally like very much.

No "Oud Maracujá" for me but still beautiful!
Of course, the Art of Nature I was inspired in some way by the Oud Maracujá but I was definitely not as captivated by it and other fruits were more intense. The longevity on my skin is around 12 hours with a good sillage.

The top note starts fruity, sweet and somewhat synthetic with aromas of blackcurrants, prunes, raisins, raspberries, rhubarb, raisins and figs. The heart note goes in a leathery and floral direction, which is mainly carried by rose water. The base smells woody and resinous with lots of oud, but also oriental and spicy thanks to ambergris, benzoin, vanilla, nutmeg, saffron and allspice.

No, the Art of Nature I is not an Oud Maracujá clone for me, but it is a beautiful fragrance in its own right! Many thanks to Sören for this!

The better Oud Maracujá?
I have been asking myself this question ever since I blind-bought Art of Nature I. The fragrance notes in the description sounded more interesting and varied to me than those of Oud Maracujá. When the bottle finally arrived, I could hardly wait to apply the first spray to my skin.

An intense, fruity aroma unfolded from the very first spray. For me, the focus was on a ripe, juicy plum, which also had a slightly bitter note. This bitterness lent depth and character to the fruitiness, which I immediately liked. The plum was accompanied by a subtle hint of blackcurrant, which rounded off the fruity prelude perfectly.

After a few minutes, the fragrance began to change. The initial sweetness of the fruit slowly gave way to a darker, more complex note. The leathery nuances that I already knew from Oud Maracujá emerged. I notice this here: In the base, Art of Nature 1 and Oud Maracujá are almost identical. The leather and wood tones are warm, elegant and very high-quality. This parallel makes the two fragrances almost interchangeable in terms of depth.

What clearly sets Art of Nature 1 apart from Oud Maracujá, however, is the more fruity and lively top note. While Oud Maracujá was always a bit like Ombre Nomade for me - with a heavier, less fruity start - Art of Nature 1 creates a much more pleasant, fresher and more accessible balance here. The fruity notes give the fragrance an individual touch without sacrificing depth or elegance.

When it comes to longevity and sillage, Art of Nature 1 exceeds expectations. The fragrance lasts for hours on the skin and is present in the air without being overpowering. The combination of the fruity top note and the heavy base in particular ensures that the fragrance is convincing both at the beginning and in the dry phase.

For me, Art of Nature 1 is definitely the "better Oud Maracujá". The fruity top note gives it a unique identity and makes it appear fresher and more modern. If you are already a fan of Oud Maracujá but are looking for a slightly fruitier and more versatile alternative, Art of Nature 1 is the perfect choice. For me, this fragrance is a successful evolution that combines the best of both worlds - fruitiness and elegance.

Unfortunately another clone of Oud Maracuja. Feels rough. Ajwad Pink to Pink is better.
