Wild Musk is so delightfully '80s! It's subtle, sweet and creamy with an animalic suggestiveness, but only just! It's the quintessential affordable musk scent. The only downside is that it doesn't project well or last very long, it settles into a skin scent almost immediately, which is a shame.

70s Staple

Most young women who came of age in America in the 1970s had a bottle of this drugstore classic, which still smells pretty much as it did back in the day. Tania Sanchez describes such fragrances as "cheap & cheerful," and there's something to the term. Simple, sunny, innocent and slightly sexy, this is what many Americans think musk is, not the dirty bodily smell of the niche musks. High school in a bottle. I still have some in vintage 70s packaging as a keepsake.
