Unrelated flanker

Cool Water Oceanic edition is pretty far from the OG which I compared with a spray on my wrist. Oceanic is sweeter, watery-ier and bluer than the OG with zero woody accord. With over 40+ flankers since the release of the OG, is it really possible to come up with something unique with the same DNA? In any event, I don't get any of the OG in this flanker.

All that said, Oceanic is a generic, very pleasant fragrance. One of those easy reach type of scents that work anytime, any place. The aquatic accord could not be considered offensive in anyway for those who usually have concerns about seaweed, kelp, or melon-y type smells. Very fresh and would definitely be pleasing in hot weather. If you're turned off by Cool Water, give Oceanic a try.

Performance is at the lower end of moderate. Good value, under $25 at discounters for 100ml, one can spray away.

Deep Sea Cool Water

This perfume is unique as it focuses on blue elements of this fragrances DNA it's unique flanker which is closer to Cool Water Reborn than the original as it is lacking in green freshness replaced with standard blue fresh synthetic elements. The sillage is mild but in heavy breeze can be refreshing. It's a solid fragrance to add to the cool water line up but it's not their best.

I use two spray behind the ears to get the optimal effect for this fragrance.

Perplexing Water

As a connoisseur of sorts to all thing's Davidoff (I've loved/ liked pretty much every release in the Cool Water lineage), I find the release of this Oceanic Edition very confusing, and rather disappointing.

The BEAUTIFUL box art for this release captures a mood and a scent profile within itself. A high-caliber, salty, sea breeze-fresh gem is what I was hoping for. The actual juice is another story.

The opening on this bad boy is FUNKY! I mean... off putting and kind of gross. The aquatic notes and freshness are evident, but there's a bitter, body-odor mustiness that is very evident (to me atleast). I almost had to wash it off my skin. That's how much I wasn't feeling it.

In the air, this detriment doesn't seem to be as evident as it is close to the source. After a fairly lengthy drydown for this kinda thing (30 minutes - 1 hour), Oceanic Edition radiates a pretty decent, fresh, and yes; "oceanic" sillage. It also smells pretty natural and earthy. But, there is still a strange bitterness and unrefined tang to the scent, even in it's best moments.

When I get a new Cool Water fragrance, I'm usually concerned about performance, because the brand ALWAYS nails their approachable, unique, fresh profiles. That is till now!

Performance is pretty strong, but we are left with a very affordable product that disappoints off the jump, and only develops into a decent blue scent at best.

Unless you are a sucker for great packaging to go along with your fragrance releases, you can skip this one unless curiosity and the price win the day

Summer in a bottle

Fantastic Summer scent, fresh, aquatic…absolut Stunning! Reminds me to be next to Beach on summertime. Let the Heat stryke on this scent and it will be radiating lots. Why Davidoff... Why???

I love Cool Water OG, my favorite blue aquatic/marine perfume ever, but this is abomination... Smells really really bad, later in the base smells like vomit ....
Davidoff why you do that, I thought it will be pleasant oceanic smell, what the hell were you thinking?
Don't blind buy this, I almost made that big mistake!!!

In the opening, a strong reminder of a current DNA (Valentino?), then it becomes woodier, still synthetic. Usable as a teen cheapie.

Very fresh scent with clear hints of CW Reborn. Instead of rosemary and galbanum, it has aquatic and woody notes. Sillage is good, price still too high (new)!
