Vetiver-nutmeg

Escrimeur has a refreshing opening full of citrus and aromatics. In the heart, a clean-bright vetiver combines with a dry nutmeg. At this point it is not far off from Vetiver Eau de Toilette . Escrimeur goes its own way, though, with a much more mossy base. But even in the end the vetiver is the key player.

This is a citrus woody for gentlemen. Classical, well-groomed, but perhaps a little old-mannish. A pleasant surprise!

Bergamot-Lavender-Oranges-Wood on Moss

The top note is gigantic and beautiful: Fresh, fruity ... I thought even flowery, but apparently that comes from the combination of orange/lavender - slightly spicy, a bit green. 10 minutes later, some wood comes through. I'd say, wood and vetiver. The fresh fruity aroma is now gone but the fresh tone of bergamot and orange is lingering on. Even later, the scent does not turn shrill but remains friendly to the nose, with its woody aroma ... with orange and the essential oils of rosemary and lavender mixed in. One wants to take a real deep breath and that feels nice! A fragrance that uplifts and brightens the day. Overall, the scent remains close to the skin and I would rather label it an 'Eau de Cologne' than an 'Eau de Toilette'. Definitely, it can be worn by women, too. I could fancy it on myself, and that is saying something.

"Escrimeur" has a slight classic vibe but I can imagine that it might please people who normally don't know what to do with classic gentlemen scents. As far as price, it falls into the affordable category (100 ml for less than 100 Euros). All in all, a scent worth recommending.

A fresher take on a darker DNA.

Personal: 7/10 - I enjoy this one, but woody aromatics are never my favorite.
Mass appeal: 7/10 - The aromatics may be a bit harsh to noses that don't appreciate older frags.
Performance: 7/10 - Good for most of the day but fades into a dull woodiness at the end.
Value: 6.5/10 - It's a solid green fragrance, and it can be had under $100, but it's not a steal.
Uniqueness: 6/10 - Feels somewhat generic, but a bit more fresh than others.
SCORE: 67/100

Full bottle buy? NO, I like it but it's redundant with other green frags.
Blind buy? YES, just be aware of sharp aromatics not quite being for everyone.
Recommend? YES, its fresher take on green woody aromatics makes it something to note.
Date night? YES, masculine and classic. Very appealing.
Office safe? YES, but could be too loud with too many sprays. Don't overspray.

Pros: Fresher take on woody aromatics. Pretty versatile. Smells high quality.
Cons: Woody aromatics not for everybody. Not the best crowd pleaser.

This fragrance opens with a bright burst of citrus, and loud woods and aromatics that stick around for quite a while longer than the citrus notes. The citruses make it bright, fresh, and viable during hotter months too, without making the fragrance too boring to be signature worthy. If you like green fragrances, and want one with a bit of a 'lemon Pledge edge', give this one a chance.

Somewhat unique, somewhat forgettable, but something worth looking into.

Everything on it, everything in it that "Nasi" desires!

Well, what have we here? A really good "chypre"! Yes, it may have been launched decades ago, but not a single molecule of it is "old-fashioned"! I would say it is timeless. I think it will still be wearable in 50 years, for both sexes.
And it has so many beautiful fragrances, all of which are "favorites" according to my nose.
Firstly, the herbaceous, spicy notes of rosemary and lavender, which, in combination with citrus fruits, trigger a pleasant "hello wake-up effect" with a "calming effect for the soul"! Then there are the tart, darker, slightly exotic spices of nutmeg and cardamom, which give the fragrance a casual, elegant feel. And the woods and mosses, which prove to be irreplaceable partners to the other scents, as they make the whole fragrance change vividly without wanting to displace anything and give it depth.
Finding all these favorite scents in ONE perfume is a bright joy! Everything the nose and the mind desire and enjoy!
