From Damascus came the Rose.......
also known as Damask Rose, which is referred to as the queen of roses.
Whether the scent is royal or not, I absolutely had to find out, as I am still on the hunt for the "ultimate rose."
I have a specific idea in my head and in my nose of how a rose should smell and have found a few fragrances that come very close to that.
"Un Air de Damas" enchanted me from the very first spray, yes, I can truly say that.
At first, I perceived a fresh, slightly green rose note, which gets a sparkling touch from the bergamot.
This later forms a very harmonious connection with the lily of the valley.
Otherwise, I often find lily of the valley scent too overpowering, but in this case, it creates a perfect symbiosis with the wonderful Damask Rose.
As the fragrance develops further, musk joins in, adding sensuality and softness to the scent.
This fragrance is wonderfully balanced and, despite all its romance and delicacy, is not without sophistication.
If it weren't for the price standing in the way, it would immediately join my collection, but it is at the very top of my wish list for birthdays, Christmas, etc.
