Turquoise Variety
So, the first fragrance from the Douglas private label that came under my nose (and on my neck, wrist, and hoodie).
With the name "Spicy Charm," I expected the following characteristics: spicy, warm, heavy, cozy, autumnal, possibly balsamic. The glass bottle with the small purple accents could have hinted to me that the contents might not align with my expectations.
But I tend to notice such things only when it seems too late.
Now to the scent: Without looking at the fragrance pyramid, I smell oranges at the beginning, but the rose and patchouli are already lurking in their shadow, ready to startle and spontaneously disperse them. They wait about 15 minutes with this plan. After about another 30 minutes, woody and slightly vanilla notes join in. Unfortunately, I can't decipher them without looking it up, no matter how hard I try. Overall, the fragrance starts to weave together beautifully from the middle, even though the beginning comes off as synthetic-fruity. It gets very close to me very quickly, not overwhelming anyone in the room. All in all, I think this is a nice companion for everyday wear or casual get-togethers with the girls.
It's interesting enough to remember, but fades quickly enough (about 4 hours noticeable for me) not to annoy a week later on my denim jacket. It can stay, but it won't be let out of its box in really cold temperatures.
Thank you all for reading!
