Much Too Short Spa Visit
Bloomy Heaven was the first fragrance from Douglas, a women's scent that I tried, and it pleasantly surprised me. Not a masterpiece, but a very solid citrus fragrance for women that left me wanting more. So when I saw the tester of Land of Vasta in the store, I wanted to try it (although the nice but maximally unremarkable and also only average quality bottle didn’t look particularly inviting).
Upon spraying, pure citrus spreads. A strong, sour orange that is incredibly delicious! After a while, the citrus weakens, but a light fruitiness comes through. The scent remains good. As it develops, the very aromatic woods come through (which are the only notes listed).
Land of Vasta is truly not complex and, in its simplicity, which is nonetheless crafted flawlessly, reminds me of the citrus scents from Acqua di Parma. If Land of Vasta (of course under a different name) had been released by the Italians - it would have fit well into their profile.
The only thing one can criticize about it (and in which it actually differs from AdP) is the quality of the ingredients. That this Douglas fragrance can be purchased for not even 30 € per 100 ml is ultimately noticeable. Not bothersome, but it lacks the breadth of natural ingredients; one can almost smell that it is merely an amalgam of individual, synthetically produced fragrance molecules. However, it is quite successful.
The scent is perfectly suited for everyday wear and leisure, but I can also imagine it being pleasant during sports.
Unpleasant: The sillage starts off solid but drops off after just 1½ hours. After a ridiculous 2½ hours, the scent is only close to the skin.
Yes, we are at the edge of the lower two-digit price range for 100 ml, but a little more would be nice, wouldn’t it? No one wants to carry the bottle around all the time to reapply because the scent has failed again.
