Light green bliss

With Lily-of-the-valley scents there is always a risk of feeling like you are wearing Glade bathroom spray. Thankfully, that is not the case here. Sure, this perfume feels fresh and clean, but with absolute class.

After a bright citrusy opening, the Lily-of-the-valley here is presented in a calming, light green fashion. There are faint hints of other white florals and a tiny bit of musk to be found when sniffing from up close. From a distance it is all light green and floral. The scent will remain this way for pretty much the whole day, slowly gaining a bit more powdery structure.

This must be one of the smoothest, friendliest Glade's, err.. LOTV's that I have worn. Very nice.

Is it air freshener? Is it soap? Not sure, but it's definitely Lily of the valley.

Two to three minutes of Glade Gel Air Freshener - Muguet, followed by two to three hours among soaps - let's call them Saponificio Artigianale Fiorentino Fiorentino Mughetto - strategically placed in the clean linen cupboard. Bonus – a few tablets of Aroxol mosquito repellent.

I do not experience it as unpleasant, on the contrary, these are familiar scents that most of us, myself included, have willingly surrounded ourselves with at some point in our own homes. Would I, however, spend a buttload of money to smell like that myself? Hell no!

A white floral bouquet where lily of the valley dominates.

A perfume that can only be worn in spring and winter because the concentration of white flowers in here can get really heady in warmer weather. Cavatina is a crown of white flowers where the lily of the valley holds its head the highest. Initially, it starts off very masculine, a sharp babershop scent. Then the white flowers on a bed of bergamot take center stage. Strictly for lovers of strong white florals. It's very similar to Mélodie de l'Amour Extrait de Parfum, the main difference being that Cavatina differentiates itself through a fresh, green profile.

Definitely not a favorite, but then I'm biased, not being a fan of lily of the valley.

Cavatina este o coronita de flori albe printre care lacramioarele scot fruntea cel mai sus. Initial, m-a izbit un pic ca o colonie de barbat proaspat iesit de la o tunsoare si un barbierit dintr-o frizerie. "Hai sa-i dam o sansa!" am zis si eu si sora mea intr-un glas izbucnind in ras, fiind amandoua enamorate de majoritatea parfumurilor Dusita si neputandu-ne imagina cum ar putea da gres aceasta noua creatie. Lacrimioarele si tuberoza sint atat de reale, incat ai impresia ca sint proaspat culese, iar notele de bergamot le ofera un pat discret de citrus pe care sa fie asezate si care taie din dulceata innabusitoare care de obicei ma respinge la florile albe. Ca si Melodie D'Amour (Dusita), Cavatina este strict pentru iubitorii de flori albe. In Melodie D'Amour, florile albe predomina conversatia, in timp ce Cavatina se diferentiaza printr-un aspect proaspat verde, probabil datorita Siamului care se iveste dupa cateva ore in drydown.

Synthetic Fragrances and Headache Potential

Cavatina came to me as part of a letter of recommendation. To be honest, I expected something completely different based on the fragrance pyramid. With Dusita, it's a "hit or miss" for me. Either I find the scent great, or I clearly have to deal with WAY too many synthetic fragrances that can lead to allergic reactions for me. For example, after 20 minutes of experimenting, my eyes are burning and my head hurts. That’s the upfront part.

Cavatina starts with synthetic lily of the valley (sharp in the nose, slightly pulling at the teeth) and bitter citrus (which is quite nice) - the beginning is already not for me due to the synthetics.

Then it becomes soapy, and unfortunately, I can taste that in my mouth when I smell it. Shortly after, I get a headache.

If I push my bodily reactions aside, I smell something resembling tuberose, ylang-ylang, and piercing jasmine... and now it has to go. And that’s not easy. What a shame!

Green Aura of Empathy

I sprayed the perfume for the first time in the morning before work and had no significant reaction to it, barely even noticing it on myself. It was a warm, sunny day.
Now here’s the thing:
Throughout the day, I noticed that I was radiating a green aura.
An aura of kindness and sympathetic hope, like early buds in the sunshine.
When I realized this, I was in such a good mood at work like never before. I was in tune with my feelings and my self-confidence.

Cavatina ignited my great love for "Muguets" - lily of the valley scents.
A fragrance that cannot be obtained naturally but must be recreated through a creative process.
The classic "Diorissimo" captures the lily of the valley most authentically, with floral freshness and photorealism of toxic cleanliness.
Cavatina does it differently. In an interview with the perfumer Umavijani, she explains the chemical similarity of the molecules of lily of the valley and Litsea Cubeba, the lemony-green flower of a small tree native to East Asia.

Cavatina is a bit more robust than Diorissimo, completely unisex, yet soft and slightly creamy.
In the drydown, a velvety, skin-like Siam wood comes to the forefront - carried by ambrette seeds that exude a musky warmth.
Yet even then, the lily of the valley does not get lost.
It is a clean scent of a special kind. Friendly and intellectual at the same time, universally applicable and not easy to overdo. Above all, it radiates on warm spring and summer days.
