Office-appropriate

For me, Le Parfum Essentiel is a perfect interview scent: fresh, "clean", linear, not intrusive. For professions that require precision (and not necessarily creativity), for the DACH region and Scandinavia (it's far too unremarkable for Spain or Italy) :-). Unfortunately, it only lasts about 2 hours on my skin. However, it lasts really well on clothing.

Bridal dresses and perfumes - Elie Saab is among the best in the world. His perfumes have, in an olfactory sense - just like his bridal dresses - the perfect cut. Opulent, but not kitschy. Sensual, but not vulgar. Elegant, but not boring.

The new Elie Saab 'Le Parfum Essentiel' is a fantastic creamy-fresh-warm women's fragrance of the old school. It has a floral note at its heart, which is not so easy to create without it coming off as too heavy and outdated - Gardenia.
If this is poorly balanced in the perfume, it can ruin the entire impression. But since Saab knows what he’s doing, 'Le Parfum Essentiel' is a top-notch fragrance, without the irritating narcotic effect that Gardenia can sometimes produce.

On the skin, the juicy notes of orange and mandarin interplay with the gentle woodiness of patchouli and cedar.

Imagine you are at a summer wedding in the Hamptons, bathed in the pink sunset of Long Island, surrounded by pearls and diamonds, clinking crystal glasses, and light summer dresses… This is what this perfume is like - in a high-quality bottle, with a superbly constructed composition of notes, flawless and with a perfect drydown in the interplay of components.

For young girls, it offers a noble hint of already well-developed taste, while for adult women, it provides freshness, softness, and approachability. It’s a win-win situation.

Then it must be true that I like floral scents!

Once tested and immediately deemed good. But what does "good" mean? "Good" in this case means: From the very first second, it is pleasant, very floral, very delicate, very pretty. "Good" does not mean: unprecedented, extraordinary, fascinating. Rather: Here, one can manage just fine. This little spring fragrance can be something for every day, for the simple, normal days when there is no special event, no particular appointment, and no special date, and one just wants to be oneself without having to think too much about who one actually is. An uncomplicated scent, then, for uncomplicated days. Not too elegant, not too casual, not too sweet, not too exciting. However, it is ideal when one has discovered the first signs of spring and wants to hold onto that impression a little longer. Perfect for feeling a bit of spring at home. Personally, for me - but this could of course be due to my sample - the start with mandarin and neroli, as indicated by the pyramid, is quite limited; really fresh feels different. If at all, I perceive the mandarin as a very light fruity sweetness. However, the floral aspect is immediately present, very intense, but truly quite beautiful, in my opinion, and I do not find the perfume to be overly synthetic, although there can be no doubt about that. To be honest, I had imagined gardenia quite differently; I had somehow associated it with something unpleasant, strongly herbal, which was probably wrong. Here, only the delicate flowers prevail, which is why the - admittedly somewhat kitschy - bottle fits quite well with the scent impression. The cedarwood quickly penetrates to a noticeable level, so that after a while, about half an hour, the strong floral aspect diminishes a bit and becomes more balanced, softer, as the cedarwood, perhaps also something else, holds it back with clear reason and brings everything back down to earth. Since the scent development feels this way to me, I easily think of castles in the air - and realizations, of spring dreams - and disillusionment. But that is not bad, rather it is particularly beautiful. The delicate creaminess that the scent takes on after a while makes it more suitable for everyday wear and somehow more realistic or, as I said before, more reasonable. The flowers remain, but they are tamed in a winning way. Overall, a quite lovely fragrance experience; the scent would not become a favorite, but I can't complain about it.
