What Does You Remind Me Of...
I am quite surprised... In the Estee Lauder test fever :) no familiar Goddess DNA in the opening, even a bit piercing (Ambrox), extremely rare for Lauder, and now comes the point where I really get curious and think... somehow this feels familiar. I actually have fragments of Neroli Portofino and Mugler's Feminity here. Citrusy bitter fig, neroli, and bergamot. Once this brief Ambrox opening is over, it actually has something interesting. People who have always steered clear of the brand and like fragrances such as Neroli Portofino, Womanity, or even Desigual might enjoy this scent. In the dry down, however, we have the soft coconut milk with fig nectar again. So it definitely has a twist!

The Blue Comes from the Sky Above the Citrus Groves!
I imagine this in my mind's eye, informed by the nose through sniffing this fragrance, as follows: Blooming lemon and orange trees bearing fruit at the same time, some fig trees scattered in between, at the edge of the grove pines and cedars, and above all, a bright blue sky adorned with small, white clouds!
Dreams of the South? Definitely! But the "South" also exists in bottles with fragrant contents! Sniffing it, in turn, creates the "dream of the South".... The circle closes again!
The fragrance itself is not "blue" at all! Rather, it begins quite bright "lemon yellow," to gain first impressions. Slowly, like in slow motion, this "perfume color" transitions into increasingly orange tones, as mandarins and orange blossoms join in. The sweetness of the blossoms and the fine fruity acidity complement each other fabulously and have a warm-inviting radiance.
When subtle fig scent and woody notes (certainly pines and cedars) are added, it results in a light brown wood tone with fine green specks.
This also leads to a slightly bluish background (more turquoise, as green and yellow tones come together)
But the main contribution to the blue impression is owed to the sky above! It bathes everything in this "southern light" :-))

Summer Azure in Times of Corona? Absolutely!
I don't need to tell you what everyone knows about the summer of 2020. No flights to the azure coasts of this world! Curfews, contact bans, hotel and restaurant bankruptcies, shutdowns. News after news, questions after questions - an annoying, unavoidable pastime.
So I’ll just bring the coasts of southern France home! It works out semi-well. My apartment already looks a bit like the Côte d'Azur. Unfortunately, I'm in Hamburg and the pollen are already a bit annoying at the end of April. At least there's sunshine. I spray this new summer number from Lauder on my skin on Sunday morning and head to the balcony with fresh orange juice.
He is wonderful. The scent has less to do with the 2019 “Fraiche” version. Rather more with Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. Well, we already have so many of those out there, right? Wait. The appearance is deceiving. Yes, Neroli is present, but the bitter orange paired with a load of chemical lemon makes a statement first, then pauses for the introduction to the Neroli/fig cream outcry! Exciting! What a combination. It can be done like this, but it's not good enough for a straight grade “1.” More like a “2.”
I immediately think of Via Camerelle EdT from Carthusia. The Italians somehow do it better. More natural, citrusy, and also creamier. But I don't want to complain or advertise. Lauder is, after all, less niche-oriented. It should appeal to the broad masses. The price is neither Tom Ford (also Lauder Group), niche, nor drugstore.

Bronze Goddess 2020 in azure turquoise tones then.
What could that mean?
Neroli / Bitter Orange / Flowers / Fig Milk / Sunscreen / Maritime Wind.
For me, the azure is definitely girlish. There’s a bit of pink and rose in there too. Great bottle and nice longevity. Orangey and really quite turquoise creamy. Someone in the lab must have said I want the 2020 scent flanker to really smell turquoise! A slight sea note comes through.
So left fresh and right creamy. I got it.

Musk, cedar, and coconut are just side characters. It radiates about an arm's length away and quickly becomes body-close.

Something in me also thinks of Mugler Cologne and suddenly it becomes clear to me that it does have the DNA of Eau Fraiche 2018 and 2019. Unfortunately, not as good in my eyes. But I don't want to be too strict; it’s good, but suffers somewhere from an overload of note congestion and transitional problems from fresh to creamy woody. Plus, there’s always that slightly cheap-sounding chemical club.
I’m being a bit too critical now, but I can still recommend it for summer 2020. Maybe I’m just a bit dizzy in the head from all the fresh disinfectant. I smell like toilet cleaner every day.
The Lauder scent is really good enough for this sad pandemic as well as beyond that, and it still surpasses most 4711 colognes from drugstores around the world. The best affordable alternative to it is even the 4711 - Remix Cologne - 225 years. There’s a lot of similarity, except for those turquoise fig milk notes.

Fine. As soon as the first flight goes, I hope to be back in Nice. Whether I’ll take this scent with me, I don’t know yet; there are simply better alternatives to a still well-made Bronze Goddess flanker.
I can still forgive that one heavy turquoise sunscreen note in the evening when I notice how beautifully it stands on the shelf next to the big “Fraiche” sister from 2019.
I doubt that this limited scent will still be available in 2021. I can recommend it with a clear conscience at around €30-40 for 50ml.
Stay healthy, my dears. I send you warm hugs.

Bronze Goddess Azur
Hello dear ones,

my last fragrance from Lauder Bronze Goddess is from 2017. Unfortunately, it is coming to an end, just like summer. Now I am trying the new scent, and I am thrilled. Light, fresh, enchanting. Like a summer breeze.

Absolutely recommend for purchase.

You should like neroli and orange blossom. At first, it has a bit of that 4711 vibe. Later, a light sweetness comes in. But the 4711 feel stays.

A sunny, almost sunscreen-like scent that reminds me a lot of 1A-33. Fresh, clean, without too much orange blossom. Longevity is okay.

Sunlit air, orange blossom breeze by the sea, little coconut but a green, unsweet jasmine, a hint of Delial. Carefree, alluring. Love!

Reminds me instantly of Eau de Soleil Blanc. Comparing the pyramids, I see why. However, sillage is weak.

Yes, at first it's true Cologne style, then it becomes floral - exotic with a hint of Coco. At this price, you can/ must reapply more often. Lovely.

Perfect for midsummer, a fresh sea breeze with neroli. Unfortunately, I don't perceive any coconut milk on my skin.

Dry, rather unsweet, subtle. Cologne, too much neroli. Not much summer feeling.

Like sunscreen on hot skin. For me, a fantastic summer scent. Super fresh top note, coconut and wood go perfectly together.

Intense, sweet neroli bomb for an afternoon by the pool. Definitely a lively summer scent, but personally, it's too syrupy and intense for me.
