Pure Royal 823 vs. Fucking Fabulous
Hello dear Parfumas and Parfumos,
since this is my first review, I ask the Parfumo community for patience.
When my girlfriend and I signed up here a few months ago, I never imagined that I would write a statement or, as I am now, a review of a fragrance. But I must admit, this platform is addictive and the people I have interacted with so far are very, very nice and open-minded.
Thanks to all of you for that. ;-)
In the last weeks and months, various bottles and samples have arrived for both of us, including Fucking Fabulous by Tom Ford, which we both liked very much, although in my opinion it leans a bit more towards the masculine side. But that is certainly a matter of personal taste.
I would have definitely bought a bottle for myself or us if it weren't for that horrendously high price.
However, through the statements and reviews here on Parfumo, I eventually became aware of the fragrances by Federico Mahora, and especially the dupe of Fucking Fabulous: Pure Royal 823.
At just 25 euros for 50 ml, I didn't have to think long and ordered it.
Finally, after a few days, the package arrived. Like a little boy, I eagerly ripped open the parcel and spritzed the first spray onto my wrist. I waited briefly and… first sniff and I think
F…ck, did they pack the original in a different bottle? Second sniff, ok, it smells exactly like the original.
Now came the test, the dupe on my left arm, the original on my right arm, waited briefly and smelled.
Now to the scents themselves:
Tom Ford F&F starts off a bit alcoholic. After about 1 minute, I smell lavender, leather, and vanilla.
After a while, the bitter almond joins in, which gives this fragrance its uniqueness, not too sweet but also not too harsh. I think these nuances make it so that both men and women can wear this scent.
Now to Pure Royal 823:
This also starts off a bit alcoholic, but that fades after a few seconds. After that, the vanilla comes forward a bit stronger than in the original, followed by lavender and then more subtle leather.
To identify all the scents, I definitely need more practice. What I can say with 100% certainty is that the dupe does not fall short of the original in any way. Its scent development goes in the same direction as the original, with a touch more vanilla, I would say. I would say it is a 90% match, and if I didn't know it was a clone and someone filled it in an original Tom Ford bottle, I would say "Thank you" and be happy that I finally had the original Tom Ford in my collection. Because I probably wouldn't notice. A more trained nose would probably be able to detect the small differences.
My conclusion:
Anyone who knows the original and has so far hesitated to buy it due to the high price will be more than satisfied with the dupe.
For me, no synthetic nuance is perceptible, as can sometimes be the case with other dupes.
A quick note on the longevity and sillage of Pure Royal 823:
Both the longevity and the sillage of this fragrance are top-notch! After just 4 hours, it is still well present on my skin. In fact, it is even stronger than the original is for me. My girlfriend can still perceive the scent on me.
I hope I was able to give some of you a little insight into this very beautiful fragrance for me. Dupe or not, for me it is simply a beautiful scent at an unbeatable price.
See you soon!
