Ah, wonderfully dry-resinous-woody opening, reminds me a little of the beloved
Bowmakers Eau de Parfum, just less about clear wood and with a more complex play of aromas. Vetiver-Cistus-Patch and the woods create a furious orchestra, wild, impetuous, bitter and at the same time fresh.
After 10-15 minutes, it becomes darker and drier again, a beautiful smoky note reminiscent of incense sticks and rather dark ash residues, a lot of wood (now more in the direction of that Bowmakers), mahogany, chestnut and other varieties, the fir balsam rounds it off over the illusion of a beautiful oil for the precious woods, as well as rather far in the background the dried floral notes as a small, brightening factor.
After half an hour, dry, very long-dried and spiced citrus peels join in, juniper and rosemary also begin to become a bit more prominent, very dark, a certain leather illusion spreads, freshly oiled, rough, black and dark brown, Mediterranean herbs and spiced black lemon (a specialty of some Arab states).
The further dry down proceeds similarly, rooty, earthy, dry, for the first time really noticeable frankincense, before it was more of a different kind of smoke, herbal mixture and dried citrus peels, quite a bit of resins.
Very nice frankincense scent, has immediately made it onto the shopping list. Complex, varied, with woods, resins, citrus and herbs, everything is included, alongside the smoke of course.
