Dark Vanilla & Patchouli Tango
Filippo Sorcinelli: a man with an interesting background - from an organist at 13 years of age to a fashion designer for the popes and clerics, and now - perfumery. His creations have a dark and melancholic style, Rick Owens of perfumery - that’s how I call him.
His creations are like him: dark, mysterious and maybe a bit eclectic. Ennui noir is one of those scents that isn’t there to lift your spirits - it is there to grant you an olfactory journey to the dark and gloomy streets from a noir movie/game. The main dark-jazzy accord here is played by the trio of lavender, vanilla, and patchouli. All of them are of course “colorless” and dusty here. Almost no sweetness from vanilla and patchouli, but you can clearly smell them there.
Amazing moody perfume, not for everyday wear, but it’s a perfect fit if you want to put on a coat and wander off into the empty night streets, listening to some noir-y jazz bands like Bohren & der Club of Gore or Somewhere Off Jazz Street.
