Waste away your summer vacation in absolute stillness: lie down in the shade and allow yourself to admire the tiny movements in the world around you. This is what this fragrance is begging me to do. The reward? The whole world around you slows down, and otherwise fleeting moments like a dew drop falling from a flower petal seem like they can last forever.

A calming, effortlessly elegant, and intimate floral fragrance. The florals are dewy and fresh without ever being sharp or excessively indolic. The iris and jasmine are the stars of the show, and there is no powder to be found here, which is rare for an iris scent. It’s juicy and wet without turning moist.

Filippo may be known primarily for his work with incense, but his florals are no joke and deserve to be admired just as much as his more “holy” creations

Fresh floral opening that’s almost minty. The first few seconds are not too pleasant as it’s perhaps too dense, but then slowly, one at a time, all the floral components start to unfold around you. First, the Iris, the tuberose, then gardenia…. This multifaceted bouquet is accompanied by a soft, silky green note that reminds me more of wet grass than any photorealistic green-ness of freshly picked flowers.

As it sits on your skin, the scent becomes lighter and more violet, with a beautiful, dewy iris that, to me, becomes the star of the show. After about two hours, the floral composition becomes simpler, and the image centres even more on the iris and carnation. A subtle amber sweetness and a juicy green note join the composition and accompany a subtle skin-like feeling that defines the quiet closure of this scent.

Easily lasts 8+ hours, but performance drops off sharply around the 2-hour mark. Given the nature of this fragrance, I think this is more than acceptable and does not at all detract from the beauty of the composition. Sillage is strong and noticeable throughout the wear.

The first time I smelled this fragrance I was immediately brought back to my childhood during the springtimes. Outside my home front door were several large lilac trees in bloom. The floral opulence was mixed with exposed wet earth from the wooded area wafting through the air. The scent brings back positive memories for me and a sense of longing for the past.

The performance is above average in terms of both projection and longevity. It is noticeable from about 6 feet away for 4-5 hours and lasts on my skin for 8-9 hours. For me this is full bottle worthy, and I believe that if you enjoy lilac and white flowered scents it will work for you too.

I am not gonna pretend I can pick up all the flower notes here. It just smells like a garden full of different flowers. The only one I can reliably identify is the tuberose. There’s also some jasmine in there, but it’s not very indolic. At least not when compared to “Fado Jasmim | Miguel Matos”.

After 2h it turns musky and now it really just smells like laundry detergent. Nice laundry detergent, but laundry detergent no less.

Completely inoffensive and underwhelming.

Lascia ch'io pianga means so much as: let me weep! What did Filippo Sorcinelli want to tell us with this?

The fragrance hovers between bittersweet, floral, and green, slightly sour notes. The main protagonist is undeniably lilac. This accord has been executed so perfectly that you really can't shake the feeling of sniffing a real lilac blossom. That deserves the highest respect - even if one might not like the scent!

The clove is responsible for introducing a minimal heaviness in the fragrance progression, making it almost appear sacred. It is the perfect symbiosis for the light lilac. The counterbalance that keeps everything in harmony. Really well done.

In the base, we can then perceive the moss, which gives the fragrance a green, earthy component that fits brilliantly into the composition.

Lascia ch'io pianga is not an ordinary, simple floral scent - rather, it is a complex composition that oscillates somewhere between sorrow, hope, and inner strength. Never too much, but definitely not banal.

Lascia ch'io pianga is a poetic perfume that conveys memories, longings, and quiet strength. For me, one of the best scents I have ever had the pleasure of smelling, even if I won't wear or buy it!

Sorcinelli. Known for incense compositions of various forms and creative ideas beyond the standard. I was so hyped when I heard about the announcement of this fragrance. Initially just teasers without notes. Pictures of the bottle and matching poems, as Sorcinelli likes to do. And the promising name to go with it. Let me cry.
This must be a bone-dry woody scent full of melancholy, longing, loss, and hope.

Then the notes were released and I was confused. How can something so floral come from all these flowers? So far, Filippo has not disappointed me, and yet it turned out to be a shared sample instead of the bottle, as I usually do with brands I can trust.

First sniff: disillusionment.
Then into the well-known sample drawer (for me, a bag, because the drawer was needed elsewhere) and since then nothing more.
Today I dare to report.
Life is beautiful

A sour, green freshness with a whole lot of sweet flowers rushes into my nose. Jasmine stands out, lilac follows, I painfully miss iris, and it becomes even more floral and intense, reaching its peak after about a quarter of an hour and strongly reminding me of headache-inducing compositions from the well-known houses, just with fewer artificial notes and less sweetness.
And this bouquet of flowers is powerful.
However, it is also very far from my expectations, which the name and the pictures had stirred up beforehand.
Life could be so beautiful…

If there weren't even MORE flowers coming in and a tuberose swinging so strongly to the forefront, emphasized by jasmine and ylang-ylang, that it becomes too much for me despite a rather average spray amount for my standards. This extrait packs a punch. You really have to give it that.
Only to cry about is that the scent is not at all what I had hoped for. Maybe I am repeating myself here.

The green bottle, which looks so interesting and should also be a real eye-catcher, does not touch me at all with its contents. And even though the scent becomes more bearable, softer, and less piercing after an hour, it is unable to win my favor.
Anyone who loves flowers in abundance can surely find a new high. Maybe even with tears of joy.
