Spring is approaching, or has actually arrived, even if the last few days, when it even snowed, must have caused some dismay and despair, and one or the other person probably caught a cold again.
But, as I said, from now on the days will surely get warmer, so one can slowly start to look forward to spring. The really thick jackets can finally be replaced with thinner ones, even if the weather forecast for the coming week often predicts rain… but at least there shouldn't be any more freezing temperatures, right? Otherwise, you could also use your cat (of course, once again about cats…) as a guide, because these creatures seem to know how the weather will be. If it’s freezing cold, they won’t even go outside; if it’s pleasant, they won’t come back… well, that’s what one would think, but mine even goes out in the worst rain, although he only ventures two meters from the house, just to sit under the table in the garden (yeah, but the main thing is to be outside!), hoping the rain will stop… :D
But as I said, we now have spring, and today wasn't so bad!
Well, for you ladies, there are such light, floral fragrances like this one that you could wear on warmer days. Tel Aviv is a cheerful, floral scent that comes across as very spring-like and Mediterranean. While it’s not particularly unique, it does smell quite nice.
The Fragrance:
At first, it smells of citrusy, but somehow also creamy mandarins and bergamots. You can smell a bit of blackcurrant, but then the scent quickly becomes more floral. You can only sense the jasmine by its sweetness; rather, you can pick out the freesias, which smell spring-like but also a bit stuffy and dry. The ylang-ylang enhances the slightly stuffy feeling even more, even though it shouldn’t smell very intense itself.
Somehow, the scent seems to have a slightly synthetic background, but I don’t find that too bothersome here.
Somehow, from the heart note onwards, a herbal scent seems to emerge that I can't identify, especially since such a scent isn't listed in the fragrance pyramid. It reminds me a bit of a mix of basil and rosemary (but more basil) and doesn’t smell bad at all. This is probably just the mixed scent of all the flowers or blossoms that come to mind.
In any case, the fragrance later takes on a slight sweetness, noticeable but too weak to be called sweet. It remains rather consistently fresh with "bright" floral notes that smell nice (and are now a bit less stuffy), but somehow it hasn’t turned out to be particularly wonderful, as the scent generally, despite being pleasant, smells more like an ordinary, fresh floral fragrance like many others, just with a Mediterranean twist.
However, the previously mentioned stuffiness weakens in the base, and the scent smells drier, like sun-warmed flowers, which fits the Mediterranean theme here well. A bit simple, then, perhaps even almost generic, but still nice enough that you ladies might like it even more than I do.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is average and will be more noticeable from close up. You definitely won’t be trailing a scent cloud behind you.
The longevity is okay, so you can smell the fragrance on your skin for about eight or nine hours.
The Bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and, with its light color nuances, almost looks a bit sterile. The label on the front is simple, although the font of the fragrance name looks quite interesting. The cap is also cylindrical and, as mentioned, white. Nice, but also a bit simple.
So why is this fragrance called Tel Aviv? Well, the scent does have something Mediterranean about it, so it makes sense to use names of cities in the Mediterranean region for the fragrance. And when thinking Mediterranean, instead of the respective places, one first thinks of the fact that you could surely spend a nice vacation there with a beach, but also culture.
Thus, you can use the fragrance as a simple vacation scent, or if you’re staying home and probably not going away this year, you can try to enjoy a bit of vacation atmosphere while getting annoyed that some friends have uploaded 2000 photos from their vacation on Facebook and Instagram *sigh and feel envious and cry*
Be that as it may, since the fragrance is very floral, I think it’s not unisex but more suitable for you ladies. You can certainly give it a try, but it’s not a must. And for me, there are many much more beautiful fragrances.
