Cupid's arrow always hits... yes, always...
In my "scent beginning time" I did not really know the scents of Guerlain and asked myself very often, why such a hype around the Guerlains is made... I didn't want to try any guerlains...

In retrospect this was probably the wrong approach, haha...

As luck would have it, I got a sample of MPN from a dear Parfuma girlfriend, which I had simply put away for a while and ignored... (out of defiance probably still)

But then, one day I "stumbled" over the rehearsal and decided that it was time to try a Guerlain after all... After all, I just had one in my hand...

Wrist ready, put to the test and sprayed off...

...And what met me there was a love arrow from Amor himself... Right in the heart!!!
Boaaaah, I had to fib without, first sit down.... Was it the right sample? Guerlain? MPN?
Check, yeah, it says Guerlain MPN.... Puuuuh I was totally flashed...!

I let this "positive shock" sink for now...

I always had to sniff my wrist again... my goodness is the good!!!!!!!!!!
Just a horny stuff!!!!! If this is really MPN, then I must have it.....Yes, I also want to bathe in it, wallow in it from head to toe!!!!!!

Could it really be that Guerlain is really so great and the hype about these scents is really justified?

So a few days later I went to the next Guerlain counter and asked if I could try MPN...
The dear saleswoman took a wonderful bottle of bees with a cute balloon spray from the shelf and asked me for my hand ;-)

And there he was again... this fairy nectar.... Enchanting!!

Started with full-bodied sweetness and delicate but at the same time heavy flowers.... It is a revelation, an absolute dream...the sweetness of the almond is fine, not sugary or sticky, but tender, seductive and simply delicious.... In my opinion absolutely no gourmand...

Densely followed by the fruity orange blossom, light, somewhat awkward and yet present.... together with jasmine blossoms, a grandiose heart note was composed here....

After a short breather, I can perceive a warm, soft sandalwood that combines wonderfully with the heart note... It gives the scent hold and a "floor"...
...the guerlainige vanilla rounds this masterpiece off and makes the smell high-quality, full-bodied and so particularly...

(I can't catch incense like that, but it's totally ok for me ;-)

I must confess, Amor never misses his goal, with me he had hit for a long time purposefully, but nevertheless right in the heart...!

Since I love the smell absolutely, I have started to bunkern like a mad woman and am probably the next days well supplied with the probably most beautiful Guerlain of all times...
So far no other Guerlain - MPN could reach the water, no really not...

I could swim in MPN and it wouldn't be enough for me yet...
The reactions from the circle of friends and acquaintances as well as the family have always been very positive, because the scent seems to suit me very well.... Even if I diesel myself with it, never strange looks or sayings come... My skin likes that probably also to eat gladly ;-)

....So my fragrance crazy friends, get to the rehearsals and dare to test something unknown, there might be something incredibly beautiful waiting for you... :)

My sign
I admit defeat, have nothing more to lose
Will risk head and heart and neck no more.
My troops carry their pride to the grave and ride home.
Defenceless I stand without them.
And wait for the wounds to heal.....

'Mon Précieux Néctar' by Gourlain is a wound-healer fragrance.
For me, it is, in its bitter almond homeliness, proof of what fragrances are capable of doing for us.
Like a wound bandage it lays on the heavy heart.
Its flowers do not annoy, they only support the honey-sweet orange blossom.
Sandalwood, musk, incense and vanilla carry through for a long time, imparting strength and power.
This fragrance belongs in the medicine cabinet.
It is my shield when the troops have retreated.

Maybe just these days, it can be that for you too. A heart shield, this 'precious nectar'.

Now don't be jealous of sugar-slurping insects!
You know, the name Mon Précieux Nectar, "My precious nectar", is somehow totally appropriate to this fragrance, especially in this bee bottle. Because nectar is the sweetish liquid produced by many plant species in their flowers and consists of many different sugars. And what exactly attracts this sweet liquid? Exactly, insects, first and foremost bees and wasps etc.. And since Guerlain has been offering many fragrances in flacons with bee motifs for decades, I find the name somehow very appropriate here, especially if the fragrance should also have a sweet scent.

Oh yes, you would have to be an insect :D
Nah, I'd rather not, they usually have a short lifespan (even shorter if they are crushed by humans or eaten by my cat!), but they can all sip endlessly delicious sugar to the point without worrying that they would gain weight, which they also couldn't, since their endless flaps of wings require a lot of energy anyway.

Could it be transferred to humans? The next time I eat something sweet and high in calories, I'll wave my arms wildly to eat as few calories as possible (or burn calories at the same time). I wonder if that'll work Unfortunately not with certainty... What's for sure is that it should look extremely stupid... like a cousin of mine who jumped up and down in front of the TV all the time, with the reason that he had to lose weight... and of course held a huge banana in his hand and ate it too, argh... :D

The fragrance:
The fragrance starts sweet with jasmine and slightly bitter with bitter almond. This may sound paradoxical, but it just smells lovely. Through this combination I even thought that the scent contains heliotrope, because this plant often smells almond and sweet, but not bitter. Only a few minutes later orange blossoms are added, which go well with the sweet scents. The orange blossoms also smell quite orange, but this could also be the petitgrain from the top note.
Soon the jasmine disappears a little into the background, because the sweetness of the fragrance now comes more from the musk and, a little later, from the vanilla, the latter also making the fragrance more soft and powdery.
In addition to the base, there is some incense, although frankly, the incense is not really recognized as such, but only as "slightly resinous", because the fragrance is very weak. You can still smell musk and vanilla in the base (later only vanilla), the orange blossoms gradually fade away, but the fragrance gets a light, woody note in the background. All in all at any time a very beautiful fragrance!

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is okay, not particularly strong, but also not exactly weak. He could have been a tick stronger to go out, but well, it's not that bad now. Like I said, it's okay. If necessary one sprays oneself again briefly :)
I thought the shelf life was okay, too. He held me for seven or eight hours or so before there was hardly anything left of the scent.

The bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical at the bottom and hemispherical at the top. It is "littered" with bees that have been worked into the glass and looks accordingly elaborately designed and really great. In the middle of the front there is a small indentation in which the shiny label is embedded. The lid is cylindrical at the bottom and bears a golden yellow bow, the upper part is spherical and patterned. A very nice bottle!

Soo... yeah, that's a lovely scent. And yes, that was a ladies' fragrance again. You know, the reason why I test so many women's fragrances is that (apart from the fact that the selection of women's fragrances is much larger) I'm occasionally provided with samples by loving perfumas, more than 90% of which are women's fragrances. And that's okay, too, because I'm describing a lot of scents here, and not just the ones I would wear myself. Unfortunately, some people just don't seem to check it out here and think I'm suspicious or something, because they think that I would only test women's fragrances without knowing that I get so many women's fragrance samples and like to describe fragrances in general here. But what the hell, it's bouncing off me now because I don't take these people seriously anymore and they are also unsympathetic to me if they rashly make a judgement about me without really knowing me. What's all this got to do with this scent? Not much, but I thought it would be time to make this clear for the idiots among you, because I have published a women's fragrance again (I think I should make that clear in a blog or something, hmmm.... let's see...) DD.

Pfft, let's go. Yeah, this scent here is dreamy for me. Or to come back to the above text and to formulate it more clearly: If I were a woman, I'd find the scent dreamy. That is, IF I were a woman, I would like to use the fragrance as well. But as a guy I do NOT use this fragrance, but would like to smell it on a WOMAN or recommend it to a woman. Uh... did you all check that? Well, I don't think all of them :DD

Anyway, the fragrance is very nice for me and I would definitely recommend it to you LADIES to try it, even if it unfortunately smells similar to other fragrances with similar scents. But I repeat here once again that this doesn't have to be bad, since there are now really 1 million fragrances, where it is somehow clear that many of them now resemble each other. But keep in mind that the Guerlain fragrance gives you the usual good quality, because the fragrance also smells good and comes in a great bottle :)

By the way, it is good for going out, but can also be used in general. Since it is not overwhelming despite the many sweet notes, it is almost an all-rounder, although in my opinion it fits best into spring and autumn

Time for gems
In the past few months, I'm sure it wasn't just me who tidied up cupboards and drawers In the process, I discovered forgotten treasures of porcelain, pieces of silversmith jewelry, books full of notes and lots of pretty bookmarks; lots and lots of small and larger memories.
Precious things of a bygone time lay before me; some of them, I am sure, only precious to me.
Precious items of the time!

Tonight is the opportunity for a very special treasure: for Guerlain's "Mon Précieux Nectar"!
This noble fragrance jewel encloses me protectively like a shell of deliciously delicate aromas.
Orange and jasmine blossoms sway in sensual elegance on a hint of marzipan; petitgrain and bitter almond are probably responsible.
Woody-harsh tones of chocolaty sweetness float in, slightly erotic vanilla warmth may not be missing here either.
A bit creaky appears once again sandalwood oil, this time with light incense as a slightly smoky companion, before a sensual white musk cap like whipped cream over this soulful composition.
This creates a fragrance beauty with a very special aura: of slightly fruity floral sweetness, delicate yet expressive, subtle and absolutely feminine!

The house of Guerlain created with "Mon Précieux Nectar" a precious fragrance work of art that lives up to its name!
No fragrant robe for every day, but extremely suitable for special occasions.
And is not just now the right time to pamper yourself, to create those special events?
"Mon Précieux Nectar" is excellent for this.
Why don't we start right now tonight?

The Guerlain interpretation of the note "gum"
I have my problems with orange blossom in perfume. I always smell bubble gum - and then the whole fragrance smells irretrievably like bubble gum to me, no matter what else is in it. And bubble gum smell I do not like as a perfume, so the fragrance is not wearable for me.
Who else is actually like that? Am I a freak in the respect? That would interest me times.
Or maybe chewing gum is secretly flavored with orange blossom flavoring? And that's why it smells like that to me? Is it like with prussic acid that not everyone can smell that - genetically conditioned?
On a side note, I love orange blossom! Really! In natura there is almost nothing more beautiful to smell than fully bloomed orange blossoms. But perfume is then somehow not quite real.

TO THE SENTENCE:
This fragrance also smells for me strongly of bubble gum, but this time refined with marzipan, almonds and sweet bepuderzuckerten fluffy sponge cake.
Normally I would have washed off anything with the bubblegum note immediately, but the Guerlain is just so well composed in terms of craftsmanship that I kind of hesitate. It is still harmonious and just fits. The fragrance is allowed to stay. All afternoon a cloud of cake then whispers around me. It reminds me of the feeling when you blow on a cake with powdered sugar and then have all the sweet dust afterwards in the nose. And from further away, I also no longer smell the gum, fortunately.
After about five hours, the orange blossom note is also gone and what remains is a lovely vanilla musk sandal, very creamy-warm and beautiful.

A very pretty scent, very comforting and has something childishly vulnerable about it. Very sweet, for me a gourmand. Sillage I find already quite large, the fragrance is rather what to go out.
Would be too sweet for me overall, such a sweetness I always feel as childish-naïve, lolitahaft.
The base note isolated I would absolutely wear, the rest is too much of the gum and sugar.
Because of the cake association, I would pack the fragrance in late summer, autumn or winter (as a cozy feel-good warmth fragrance), in any case only in the afternoon, when the sun is slowly setting, in the evening or night.

Feels like a high quality macaron. I can sense mostly the almond followed by incense. No flowers. Cannot understand the love this gets.
