Weak grapefruit
Marra opens with a strong blast of citrus, specifically grapefruit. Although grapefruit scent can bring to mind sweaty BO, Marra quickly (5 minutes or so) evolves into a more generic citrus scent with the appearance of the bergamot and orange. The citrus here is very realistic without a hint of a synthetic vibe.

Where Marra fails is performance. Projection is quite intimate and longevity is only about 4 hours on skin. Quite disappointing. If you're looking for something along these lines, definitely look at Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette or Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée. They are much better overall.

UPDATE (1/18/2025): I've completed testing all of the Guy Fox fragrances available in their two sample sets. One set is for the "Founder's Reserve" Collection while the other contains all their standard releases. Here's my ranking of all of them, with a few notes:

First group, ranked in order of my preference. These are the top Guy Fox fumes in my book - full bottle worthy, with Nightcap being the best:
1. Nightcap
2. Fairway
3. Vince
4. Nelson

Second group, no rank or order, just grouped together. Nice scents. I like them, but not enough to buy a FB:
Aspen
Primo
Mikul
Jefe
Preston

Third group, no rank or order, just grouped together. OK, somewhat generic. Mediocre performance for some:
Palmer
Tyler
Marra
JP

Fourth group. Just plain awful. Was almost a scrubber for me:
Riviera

Fresh agreeable blend, not making much of an impression
Sampling Guy Fox Marra, a fresh, zesty blend with main notes of bergamot, pepper, and rosemary, with additional support from rosewood, juniper, and grapefruit. It’s fittingly citric, bright, a bit spicy, and woody, and altogether quite agreeable while not standing out in a substantially great (or bad) way. I prefer it to Jefe but JP is better, of three total from the line I’ve tried so far. It performs decently well and would make a reasonable companion for most situations.

As with the rest of the line, Marra is EDP concentration and priced at $68 for 50ml, very reasonable by most standards, sold via both the house site and boutiques like Ministry of Scent.

Extremely pleasing but so unextraordinary. Hard to be mad at the blend but not compelling at all.
