Sheep's Clothing Henry Rose 2022

I hate to speak negatively about a company that makes an enormous effort to use less toxic ingredients and full transparency, but smelling this perfume was downright horrific.

I bought this from Henry Rose, so I know it was authentic.

First spray: sour milk. Then curdled milk. I actually gagged (my first time gagging from a perfume).

After 10 minutes: Sour pickles that have gone moldy? Difficult to describe; still terrible.

After 1 hour: Still the sour, moldy wood smell. Threw it out.

I heard through the grapevine that they're starting to sell Henry Rose at TJMaxx/Marshall's and I was like, "ok bet". I really didn't think it'd be there but it was! Sheep's Clothing was the only scent available (and I was hoping it'd be Windows Down but I digress). So, yeah, it was a blind buy, but if the price is decent, and it's cruelty free, I don't see the crime.

Back to Sheep's Clothing-- it's very simple. Pink Pepper, musk, some florals. Simple, but I love simple. One might even say (Ilya Rozanov voice) boring. But again, I'm pleasantly surprised! The notes remind me of Glossier You 100%, but it's more expensive than You (in regular stores and online) so it's not really a dupe. First cousins, maybe. Sheep's Clothing is like the chic, grown up version of You.

And for a first impression of Henry Rose, I really like it! The bottle is really sleek and huge, too. Tens all around.

Some days you don't need a statement scent. This is a 'just right' daytime hot weather scent when I don't really know what else to wear and want to smell very low key nice / not draw too much attention to myself. It's a good travel spray to bring on vacation. good for a casual group dinner, outdoor wedding, or a summer day when I want to feel fresh. There is a bit of stem, a dash of green in there that isn't actually in the note lists.

BIG downside is that the lasting power is disappointingly low and during the summer I can go through it really fast. I appreciate the less 'toxic' ingredients they use, but hope that down the road they can find a way to improve longevity.
