Tender Soul Soother
Do you also love it so passionately when you can still smell the scents from the previous day on your skin in the morning? I am always completely enchanted by that. Usually, only the intense candidates with corresponding sillage manage to do that. An exception in my collection is Bonds Brant Park Il Vs Iris by Hilde Soliani. The Iris from the Ti-Amo series was the first Soliani I got to know, and it was a hit right away. Before that, I didn't even know that I was an iris lover. It was the almond that piqued my interest. And the almond makes this fragrance special. The crunchy, slightly herbal note of the iris combined with the sweet almond transforms Soliani's Iris into a wonderfully tender, skin-close cream scent. One feels as if they have slathered themselves in sinfully expensive body cream. A luxury of a special kind. I personally can't smell the paprika and sandalwood, but I'm not the expert on that.

This fragrance is a soul soother. So delicate and innocent on the skin, yet it still has its presence and boasts excellent longevity of over 8 hours. A scent that doesn't disturb anyone, but still occasionally catches attention, for example, from my mother-in-law, who totally loves it on me.

You don't have to be an explicit floral fragrance fan to like this iris. I'm not one either, and I love this scent very much. Apparently, it is also disappearing from the market medium- to long-term, like many of my favorites. Sometimes I think it's because of me :(

By the way, Il Tuo Tulipano from this first series by Hilde is also great, but I'll tackle that another time.

Seelchen
Almonds? Dusted with heliotrope and finely ground.
Iris? Yes, but different.
Mimosa? In every respect.

I find iris fragrances to be mature, serious, dry, and sometimes a bit too elegant and ladylike for my taste. Il vs Iris, on the other hand, comes across as soothing, creamy, lovely, youthful, and exceedingly friendly, without ever crossing the line into the overly trivial. 'Come across' is quite an appropriate phrase, as a grand entrance with fanfare and drumroll is definitely not its style. Right from the start, the iris root reveals a very gentle side and smells as if bathed in heliotropic almond milk. Everything feels quiet and reserved. After about ten minutes, a sweet note joins in, which also reminds me of Mimosa pour moi. Are those really mimosa flowers? Metaphorically, the mimosa represents a sensitive and (over-)sensitive character, which aligns quite well with the character of the fragrance. Beyond that, I find no other flowers and, thankfully, no fruits. Sandalwood plays a subtle role in the background, but it pleasantly supports the warm creaminess.

I can't really detect green pepper in the fragrance, but there is a herbal, green note that prevents the scent from becoming too proper. Il vs Iris is many things: an office scent, a soul-soother, a flatterer, an all-rounder that appears almost childishly innocent on one hand, yet also soulful in its intimate, pastel-like delicacy on the other. But: What is a nightingale to one is a bullfinch to another: Il vs Iris does not flash and does not evoke any 'aha' moments. It is far too subtle and timeless for that. It is my reliable companion when I am not in the mood for something striking or when I stand indecisively in front of my fragrance boxes and simply cannot decide. Its longevity is better than one would expect from such an unobtrusive scent. I can perceive it well for half a day.

However, I do have two points of criticism: In the first few minutes, I unfortunately detect an artificial, plastic-like note that thankfully dissipates quickly. When I spray the fragrance, I always wonder whether the plastic note might be related to my second point of criticism: How can something so fine and beautiful end up in such an ugly and cheap-looking bottle? Someone with such sensitivity for delicate fragrance nuances should not confine them to a ceramic vessel with such dreadful design. Goodness, the eye does smell a little too, Ms. Soliani!

Juicy Iris
I'm testing another iris fragrance here. By now, I find that iris is a really great scent note. And especially women seem to be very fond of this powdery scent note. That's why I often test iris fragrances, so I can give tips to a dear friend who is totally into iris and, ideally, even occasionally provide her with iris samples :)
(She will probably say: “Ew, what do you even find in this scent? It's completely irrelevant *cry* … if I think about it, she will never get samples from me again he he he!)

With Il Vs Iris (somehow a strange name), we have another iris fragrance here that, like many others, smells really great and this one also comes with a juicy, green note, making it smell a bit “different.”

The scent:
The beginning is both sweet and green. You can smell a green and quite juicy bell pepper that smells very authentic. Then, on the other hand, you can smell a very powdery almond, combined with iris.
In the heart note, the scent remains green and powdery. The green bell pepper even becomes stronger and slightly more bitter. The almond becomes noticeably weaker, but the scent remains sweet.
Not much changes in the base. The scent stays powdery and sweet, the sandalwood is hardly noticeable and the green bell pepper still smells juicy, but occasionally even slightly stuffy.

Longevity and sillage:
The scent lasts about six or seven hours. Quite okay for a green fragrance.
The sillage is actually weak, so the scent eventually becomes quite close to the body. But when applied, it is quite strong. You don't even have to hold your arm to your nose, as the scent radiates incredibly well for a few minutes. But as I said, the scent can't maintain this level very well.

The bottle:
The tall, slightly bulbous bottle is purple and somehow looks like a bowling pin with its hemispherical cap. The name and brand are written in cursive on the front. Everything is somewhat okay. By the way, if the bottle were white or green, I would find it more fitting…

When reading the fragrance pyramid, I initially thought: “Oh no! Green bell peppers of all things!” Because you should know that I like green bell peppers the least of all peppers, as they always taste a bit too bitter to me. If only they were “normally” spicy, because I like everything that is spicy (that's double-edged,… yeah… quiet!). And if you're interested, I like red bell peppers, but who doesn't? :D

Anyway, after that, I did notice that the scent has some bitter notes in the short term, but overall it smells rather green and juicy. And of course very powdery, although you have to smell it yourself, as the iris-almond combination somehow smells “different” due to the green note. Not worse, but… well, just different!

The scent is light and can be well used in spring and summer. Best as a daytime scent or for leisure, as it becomes too weak for going out later.

I would recommend testing it, but definitely not buying it blind. Even if you like powdery notes and almond, you should first smell this one, in case the green note, which sometimes even appears slightly stuffy, doesn't appeal to you that much.

Delicate Amaretti in Milka Outfit
I ordered the fragrance because I already own "CiocoRosissimo" and "Crema di Latte" and I really love CiocoRosissimo. Both are intense gourmands for me. However, I perceive "Iris II" quite differently!
Primarily, I smell a delicate almond aroma, like those little dusty mini-amaretti. Iris? When I think of "Iris Prima" by Penhaligon or "Iris" by L'Erbolario - completely different! Paprika? I don't notice any of that! Sandalwood? Probably in there...
A true lightweight compared to the other two "Solianis" I know! But therefore surely more suitable for the warmer days, the two gourmands are definitely only for late autumn and winter in my opinion.
And about the bottle: they seem to be quite puristic at Soliani in general. This one stands out clearly, even though it is certainly not a masterpiece. I find the purple quite pretty. By the way, it's exactly the shade of the well-known chocolate brand! A bar of that is actually sitting right next to me...

The Other Iris Scent
Il Vs Iris is quite a different iris fragrance.
The first thing that came to mind when I smelled it was that this is an elf scent.
Wonderfully light and fluffy, as delicate and warm as a mild summer breeze, a floral hint wafts around your nose.
The iris is not dry, but rather appears moist, yet it is clearly an iris scent.
The beautiful sweetness is contrasted by green notes, giving the fragrance a light and fresh touch.
Thanks to heliotrope and sandalwood, the scent becomes warm and very cozy, without losing its lovely fine floral quality.
The delicate almond note is also very beautiful, making the fragrance something special.
Il Vs Iris is not a showstopper; it stays close to the skin with a gentle aura.
It is fine and understated, somewhat elegant, yet also playful.
A great fragrance.
By the way, its delicacy and sweetness remind me of Mimosa pour Moi by L'Artisan.

It smells more like
Iris and almond against the
rest of the world.
Or against a
strange note.
Probably paprika.

Warm + soft iris, not too powdery. Sweet almond, a hint of jasmine + a bit of green (pepper?). Beautifully creamy. Elegant + cozy at the same time.

At first unpleasant, somehow off-kilter-strange.
Then soft, creamy almond.
Awwwww....
Sillage is unfortunately soft, but a very pretty scent!

Well-groomed, not dusty, soft powdery iris with a light, sweet & subtly creamy almond on sandalwood. Paprika flashes briefly green at the start.
