Aaah…
After I recently had the chance to test Vani Choc by Hilde Soliani and found the scent really deliciously gourmand, I had to try another fragrance from this brand, as I assume that the gourmand scents here smell truly amazing. Even if some of you have blamed me for baking tons of chocolate cake because of my description :D
Hey, I can't help it if you're so weak-willed! He he he :D
That said, I didn't like this fragrance as much, but that's due to a specific reason that you will find out shortly. However, I am sure that all of you, or at least most of you, could find this scent really delightful, so don't let my low rating confuse you right away!
The scent:
Boaaaarhhh…. I really don't like the beginning! And I will tell you why… even if you might hate me for it… but the scent initially smells extremely of boiling milk, which I absolutely cannot stand and often makes me feel nauseous. I don't know why, but whenever I see or smell boiling milk, I have to leave the room quickly. To put it in a comic metaphor: The scent of boiling milk is my kryptonite (for all the laypeople: That's a green mineral that represents Superman's weakness).
Then, more in the background, I smell vanilla, which makes the scent more powdery. Additionally, the fragrance becomes creamier and sweeter because you can now also smell caramel and sugar.
But overall, this milky (or boiling-milky) note is the strongest, which I mentioned I don't like very much, so the scent is not for me… even if this note weakens a bit over time and the other listed fragrance notes, especially the vanilla, should become stronger…
But if you like the scent of milk, you will surely enjoy this fragrance.
The projection and longevity:
The scent has a fairly good projection at first, although it loses a bit of strength shortly after, but still remains above average and is therefore noticeable on someone or something.
The longevity is very good; even after showering, you can still perceive it a little. You can expect more than ten hours.
The bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and surrounded by a slightly diagonally placed label. The cap is cylindrical, tall, and chrome-plated. In my opinion, the bottle is too simple and not particularly beautiful.
* sigh *
You know, the scent of boiling milk has been a topic of contention between my mother and me since my childhood. She always says that milk smells quite good while I just stand there, stare at her, and you can read on my face that I'm thinking of *gagging endlessly* :D
So it's no wonder that my mother quite liked this fragrance when I showed it to her… On the other hand, she doesn't like most of the scents I test, especially the spicier ones. I once showed her the wonderful By the Fireplace from the Replica series, which reminds one nicely of chestnuts (which she also enjoys eating), and what did she say? *GAG* exactly as I just wrote it :DD
Anyway, milk in fragrances seems to interest quite a few perfumers, so I would simply recommend this scent. It didn't appeal to me because I can't stand the milk note, but you lovely ones (yes, you read that right, I'm calling you lovely… see, I can also speak nicely about you in comments :D) should enjoy the fragrance, especially with the combination of sugary notes and powdery vanilla. So don't let my mere 6.0 points confuse you…
By the way, the fragrance is suitable for cold days, so autumn and winter. You can use it both daily, for going out, or as a good-night scent.
