Rose jam and dark chocolate

CiocoRosissimo opens with an enchanting duo of rose and chocolate. The chocolate here is like bitter, dark cacao powder, with its dry and almost powdery texture further underscored by the supporting woody base. Contrasting this is the sweet, rich rose, unctuous and decadent like honeyed rose jam and slightly tart, wine-y rose liqueur pouring over the dry chocolate chips.

One interesting element listed here is the grass. Personally, I don't smell any fresh greenness, but rather the sharp, almost spicy aspect that I associate with Leaf Alcohol. Blended with the woody cacao, it actually conveys a nutmeg spiciness to me, bringing in an unexpected dimension to the rose-chocolate duo.

The bitterness and spiciness of chocolate mellow with time, and the fragrance eventually becomes a woody rose with a creamy gourmand undertone and its edge softened by the discreet vanilla.

CiocoRosissimo then remains as such until it disappears after 10 hours. Its sillage is mostly moderate.

I used to love sweet gourmand rose, but lately my tolerance seems to be growing lower and lower, much to my chagrin. Sadly, CiocoRosissimo eventually is a wee bit too sweet for my peronal enjoyment. That being said, I admire the complexity of different notes and the contrasts between them displayed in this fragrance, and would definitely recommend giving it a try, especially if you're looking for a sophisticated rose chocolate fragrance and can handle a certain degree of rosy sweetness.

Chocolate gormand Roses

Yaaay! This perfume is trully uplifting, truly joyful. Ok so clearly its affecting my mood, I cant stop sniffing myself, and I'm not even a fan of Chocolate confectionary! Its my perfect gourmand Rose.. I dare say. Its sweet, powdery, in the same way you find Loukhoum, its pure cacao that I smell and lush velvety red rose. The Rose here isn't big, loud or like potpourri, its is just perfectly matched with the sweetness of chocolate & vanilla, neatly blended. i woud dearly love a full bottle of this.

Roses Dipped in Chocolate

Here we have a fragrance for women that you should preferably not test on an empty stomach. Because when you're hungry, it often happens that you stuff all sorts of things into yourself, including sweets. And Cioco Rosissimo initially smells wonderful like chocolate, so you might be tempted to devour a whole bar of chocolate at once… or maybe even two bars…

The scent:
When you spray this fragrance, you first don't feel like you're spraying a scent, but rather unwrapping a bar of milk chocolate. It really smells very intense, but also very delicious like this tasty treat. This is almost the entire top note, as it hardly changes, but only becomes more intense.
Slowly, the rose notes begin to emerge, starting subtly. You can also perceive the vanilla a little now, although the chocolate notes still dominate the scent.
A little later, the fragrance becomes "brighter" as the sweet chocolate notes gradually lose some of their intensity. You can also better perceive the grassy notes now, meaning the scent shows some green accents, and the rose notes become stronger. But all in all, it remains very chocolatey and delicious even in the base. Only after about four to five hours do all the fragrance notes become equally intense, so that the greener notes can be smelled better and the scent generally appears a bit fresher.

Longevity and sillage:
The longevity is about six to eight hours before the scent becomes too weak. But even then, it can still be smelled on the skin for several hours.
The sillage is quite decent, especially at the beginning, it is even really strong. But even later, the scent is still noticeable and could perhaps fill an entire room with the right dosage or at least leave a strong scent trail when passing by. However, after three or four hours, the scent noticeably weakens.

The bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and filled with yellow liquid. It has a round, brown label on it. The cap is silver and tall. The brand name is engraved on it. All in all, quite nice, but not particularly outstanding.

So, luckily I had chocolate lying next to me. Because recently at Rossmann, there was chocolate in Star Wars packaging, since the new movie is coming out, and as a Star Wars fan, I just had to get it, specifically with the Darth Vader motif (yes, I’m a nerd). So I could immediately tear it open and devour it, making sure to eat Vader's face first (because as Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory once said: "I don't like how Darth Vader is looking at me!").
Thus, I also gave up resisting the chocolate, as this fragrance, especially the top note, really smells delicious.

I would definitely recommend testing the fragrance. Not only do the chocolate notes smell great, but the further development of the scent with the roses and slightly green notes is lovely. Due to the rather heavy sweet notes, I would recommend this fragrance for autumn and winter.

In any case, you should wait some time if you want to go out and wear this fragrance. Because right after spraying, it smells as described very strongly of chocolate, so deliciously, that you run the risk of being devoured immediately :D

Perfume junkies dealing under the table

A dear colleague of mine, who is a bit older, is also a big fan of the niche fragrances by Lutens. After a company meeting, we excitedly talked about scents on our way to the Italian restaurant. As a result, my Lutens collection got a little bigger...

That evening, however, I had something else on, namely CR by Soliani. I let my colleague sniff from the bottle. "Wow, this is so delicious!!!" Well, I had "conveniently" brought an empty bottle with me and immediately created a decant in the restaurant (BEFORE the food arrived!) and handed it to her. Another colleague watched our antics very interestedly (almost slightly puzzled): 2 perfume junkies passing the "drug" under the table! ;-)

For me, CR is the perfect combination of rose and chocolate, with neither of the two main components dominating the other. Like a rose praline!
