WOAH! What a vintage vibe

This one has a linear smell of rose, powder, makeup, a hint of hairspray, velvet (and a velvety texture), glossed woods and a small hint of tobacco, this scent just radiates the best kind of feminine energy, like a glamourous woman you once looked up to (perhaps your own mother! i hope!)

This is VERY chic and a must try for those who like vintage smelling scents, I like it!

I was immediately struck by the similarity of Hilde Soliani Profumi VECCHI ROSSETTI to Bvlgari's first fragrance, POUR FEMME, created by Sophia Grojsman back in 1994. The key links are the violets and the roses, but there is also a glamorous—even theatrical—quality to both of these resinous perfumes. In a side-by-side comparison, I find that BVLGARI POUR FEMME is richer and more complex to my nose—which makes a lot of sense given the vast range of notes present in that composition, as compared to the modest number included in VECCHI ROSSETTI.

So I guess that Sophia Grojsman has outshined the competition once again. I'm not one to charge perfumers with plagiarism, and I certainly don't think that a niche perfumer such as Hilde Soliani would consciously copy a famous perfume and then charge more for the so-called knock-off than the original costs, but I do think that Sophia Grojsman has managed to stake so many claims to so many clearly identifiable segments of the grand olfactory map that she represents a force to be reckoned with! She seems to possess a particular form of perfumic genius which is able to identify uncharted territory and make it her own in an iconic perfume against which all others in the same neighborhood (but created later on down the line) are bound to be invariably measured.

Now I present to you a special perfume. Special because it is a rose scent that I actually like for once.*gg*
However, it takes a little while, at least half an hour, for me to like it, because at first it is quite strict and cloying, so I was already put off. But I also sensed right away that there was more to come.
The rose is immediately present, very earthy and a bit dirty. A strange rose, because it is not red, but pink.
It is a peculiar scent experience, the pink rose and the earthy smell seem almost inappropriate.
Other flowers are also present, but they are more in the background and don’t really contribute anything at first. Even the violet is only small and doesn’t really push itself forward.
The rose remains with us and becomes slightly fresher. Are there green roses? Probably not, but here it turns green.
There also seem to be notes that are not listed here.
Vecci Rossetti becomes bitter and a bit woody, but at the same time a soft and lovely powdery note emerges.
The top note lasts longer than usual.

In the heart note, the scent becomes stronger, the earthy note intensifies again, which strangely doesn’t bother me at all, because it has something natural about it. Like freshly dug wet earth.
But now one begins to sense the true beauty and the extraordinary nature of this fragrance.
It acquires a fine caramel note. Perhaps that’s due to the vanilla. Vanilla in fragrances is nothing new, but here it is the overall composition that makes it so unusual. It doesn’t become gourmand. Still, I have slight associations of cotton candy adorned with rose petals. Yet the scent does not become sweet; that is curtailed by the earthy note.

Only very late in the heart note does the earthy note recede, and the scent becomes softer. Now the lovely powder comes more to the fore. Other floral notes also emerge. However, the rose remains the most present of all the notes throughout the entire scent journey. Although I can smell the rose well, it is not one of the usual rose fragrances. The rose smells like a rose and also not like one. Unfortunately, I find it hard to describe. In any case, it is the first rose that I really like because it is so different.

The base is dreamy. Not sweet, not too vanilla-heavy, but cozy and inviting with hints of soft wood.
If I like a rose scent with dirty notes, then it must be good.*gg*
