Je ne sais quoi
I've never understood why this perfume doesn't get much love. I think it's gorgeous! Yes, it isn't extremely creative, quite simplistic I may say, but it smells divine. It really doesn't evolve, it is linear, but I've never considered this a bad thing in any perfume. I enjoy the same scent from spraying until last breath, instead of unpleasant surprises during wearing.
The name is a bit misleading in my opinion and I guess this is one of the reasons people are disappointed with this perfume. It renders a tomato leaf in a demure manner, instead of exploring the botanical profile of the plant. Tomato leaves are one of my favorite smells in the world. This being said, I've never felt underwhelmed with this perfume.
Like I've already said, it doesn't evolve, you get the same smell from start to finish and basically Tomato Leaf smells like sweet osmanthus and freesias, juicy ripe orange, tiny drop of musk and a green dry-ish accord that wraps all notes together. There is something in the base that smells similar to violets or violet leaves. Must be the carrot seeds. They are not earthy and raw, but more like starchy and sweet. And the thing that I find intriguing is the fact that, to me, this perfumes comes off almost like an aquatic.
It isn't grand dame or exuberant, but more of a Tres Chic! young lady who doesn't need artificial tricks to be considered beautiful. Her smile is her greatest asset.
It has good staying power and sillage, even in hot summer weather. It's very refreshing, pastel light yellowish-green in color.
Tomato Leaf is one of my most beloved perfumes and I treasure it like gold.

A Toast to the Tomato!
What the Austrian calls his Paradeiser is simply known as tomato here, which is also referred to as the paradise apple. And not without reason. Tomatoes not only taste wonderful - at least when they have ripened in the garden and have absorbed the sun - they also smell delightful!

The Tomato Leaf by Illuminum was, so to speak, a must-have for me, and since I have tomatoes here, I can easily compare it with the green stuff attached to them.

Tomato Leaf begins with a juicy, fresh starfruit - also known as carambola. It's so juicy and fresh-sweet that I instantly crave such a fruit. Carrot seeds? Orange? Tomato leaf? Not at all, there's no hint of that.

Even the flowers in the heart note are carried by this fruity, slightly sour-sweet scent and therefore don't really stand out. Only after more than two hours does the green tomato leaf make its appearance, and Tomato Leaf experiences a gentle shift from the fruity-floral to the green accord, while still retaining the fruity top note.

After several hours, a very, very subtle, dry, and vanillic musk note emerges, allowing Tomato Leaf to fade away.

I find the longevity to be okay at 6 - 7 hours, the sillage is very close to the body but incredibly pleasant. I have since repeated the test multiple times, and Tomato Leaf pleases me more and more with each try.

Illuminum is a brand that offers unique fragrances for me, and two of them are already enriching my collection. Tomato Leaf could very well become the third, as despite its gentle sillage, it has something very special that resonates with me, something I can identify with.

Warm Tomato Flower
“Tomato Leaf” is a warm, herbal feel-good fragrance. The tomato leaf comes through wonderfully fine and remains the main scent component throughout. It has such a herbal, bittersweet charm that one might think it is a flower.

The opening is fresh, almost a bit piercing, and reminds me on my skin of clove, which according to the manufacturer is not a component of the fragrance. A bit of orange rounds off the top note, and then the freesia makes its appearance. Despite this very fresh opening, the scent remains soft and warm all the time. When the “clove” finally quiets down, not much happens anymore. The fragrance bids farewell from my wrist after about 5 hours with a hint of vanilla.

Well ... it lacks that little magic. The spark that ignites me and makes me need this scent at all costs. But I will surely sneak past it time and again, spray it on, and feel good ...

Sunny morning. Inspecting the beds. On all fours. Rubbing garden green between my fingers. Sniffing flowers. Beautiful day.

Sitting in the dentist's office. The interior is meant to uplift and ease fears. That's why there are tomato plants. But disinfectant is seeping in.

Tomatoes on my eyes, but not in my nose. Bath foam in plum wine? Out of the tub.

The flowers get a zesty, almost cheeky green note from the tomato leaf. Really something different! A quirky summer scent.

A distinctive floral scent with a bold green direction and a hint of sharp spice. The tomato leaf adds a kick to the flowers.
