I have a stupid name - don't I?
The price for the probably stupidest perfume name 2018 (even if the year isn't even half over yet) goes for many certainly to "J´Suis Snob". Three years ago, "Je Suis Charlie (Hebdo)" might have been original, but this name is full of arrogance.
If you google the title, you come across a chanson from the 40s by the French singer, jazz trumpet player and actor Boris Vian, who describes his exhausting life as a snob in a self-ironic way. I think that's exactly what pays for the perfume of Jacques Zolty (who loves to walk around the Antilles island St. Barth in his white suit and panama hat), who doesn't want to take himself too seriously.
J´Suis Snob holds a quite high level from the first second. In addition to currants, it is above all this dark rose and the tingling sour champagne that make the fragrance appear both invigorating and noble. Personally, I don't find currants as dominant as some people here announce. White musk, as interesting as it may sound, and amber seem to have a lower rank in the snob world, because they do appear in the pyramid, but hardly at all olfactorily.
All in all, we are dealing here with a light-footed, uncomplicated eau de parfum that almost cries out for high temperatures to refresh both wearers and outsiders in a beguiling and stylish way.
