Joyfull experience...
A photo-realistic scent featuring a Cuba Libre cocktail-like aroma with lime, rum and cola apparent top notes. Slightly smoky birch with bitter davana and a dash of pepper in the middle keep the whole boozy accord out of a sweet path leaving space for the musky-ambery drydown which completes this summery-joyfull scent feeling. Athough a bit 'synthetic' overall, Severo does its job well enough to put me in a relaxing mood and bring a smile on my face everytime I'm wearing it. Cheers! and enjoy !

Summer Feeling
Come on over have some fun
dancing in the morning sun.....

Why do I now associate this fragrance with this song?
It’s the good mood that both give me.
This feeling of lightheartedness and freedom.

I love the scent of a good cola by nature,
and when it comes across so authentically,
like here.....perfect.
Along with the zesty lime,
with subtle bitterness....wonderful.
Rum is present,
very discreet,
no trace of drunkenness,
maybe a little tipsy,
just enough to become a bit carefree.

Quickly, the vanilla arrives,
with gentle sweetness,
not glaringly bright,
but like the sun, slowly setting on the beach of the Caribbean.

And I am there, dancing joyfully to the wonderful sounds,
forgetting the world around me...

Pepper subtly,
like the vibrating rhythm of the music deep within me,
I breathe in the wonderful scent of freedom.

Laughing, I let myself fall onto the old leather couch on the beach,
old, well-used, but by no means shabby,
sipping my still fresh Cuba Libre.
The smoke of the old men with their cigars, far away,
drifts only slightly towards me.

A fragrance full of life and good mood.

I’ll leave out the first 5 seconds,
they smell like plastic,
and cost me half a point.
But it really disappears after a few seconds,
and then it is ... perfect.

I would classify it as unisex, but it definitely suits a man better in my opinion,
casual, carefree,....

So, I’m going to dream now....
Summer feeling....

Havana Feeling: "Rum and Coca-Cola"
How the hell does the cola get into this fragrance?
Actually, the liquid in the vial should be dark brown and sticky, instead of so harmlessly clear.
Every serious fragrance lover should stop reading now, because this will be a hymn of praise for a crazy yet very sophisticated composition!

"Cuba Libre" in a spray: I can't believe it!
Yatagan really knew what he was doing when he included this sampler in the fragrance letter for me. He knows me well!
I grinned from ear to ear, once the initial astonishment wore off.
And I'm grinning again: this summer scent is simply insane!

It's no secret that I have a preference for long drinks, especially under the stars; whether on hotel terraces or bars "with outdoor seating," as they now beautifully say.
I actually prefer gin-based drinks, which can be beautifully flavored and colored with the right syrup: of course with little umbrellas and straws!
But for "Parfums de Havane - Severo" by Jacques Zolty, I'm happy to make an exception.

The classic "Cuba Libre" recipe can be found in the fragrance opening:
Cola, sweet and sticky, fresh lime juice, and a good portion of dark honey-colored rum!
It continues with sophistication:
Davana, here not only spreading a light dried plum note but also a subtle rum note, fits perfectly with this opening.
A pinch of pepper adds extra fire, and the bitter birch nuance slightly tames the sweetness created by the cola.
"Severo" still feels a bit sticky; or was the sample sip already too much?
What would a tropical night be without the warm sensuality that crackles through it?
Once again, lazy creamy vanilla and white musk, interspersed with amber's resinous-spicy radiance, provide that.
This entertaining fragrance cocktail needs no more; it speaks for itself!

Thus, this fragrance creation conjures up vivid images of warm nights, beautiful women, smart men (who would all love to see themselves as James Bond), and a lifestyle known only by the South or the tropics.
"Parfums de Havane - Severo" delivers a short trip to Havana right along with it: lively, exuberant, not averse to "a little flirtation," and guaranteed without a heavy head the next morning!

This fragrance belongs to one of those summer night parties; here it can develop and express its very special charm.
For here it shows once again that the world of fragrances doesn't always have to be serious; a little wink can definitely be part of it.
And to that, I raise my glass!

Havanna Part 1 - Cuba Libre in the Cigar Lounge
A few of the statements already compress it into a very similar direction.
But this interesting scent can still be dedicated a few more words.

I haven't really come across Jacques Zolty until now, but at ALZD I did, particularly because of the interconnected Cuba theme of the 5 fragrances. So it's basically a pentalogy. It's always a tricky thing, such a concept can also seem very forced. I own Severo, and 3 of the other 4 fragrances are available as samples.

So let's start with Severo.
Here, cola is mentioned multiple times. What nonsense. Cuba Libre, please, and a good one with decent rum and lime. Maybe a small mint leaf for garnish.
That's how it starts. Cola alone doesn't do it justice. A Cuba Libre needs lime, and you can smell it, namely through a slight bitterness. That's how it should be, a little green shines through. Fortunately, the sweetness of the Cuba Libre is not too sticky; they have paid attention to a good balance with a proper rum.
Now one might think, why would a fragrance want to smell like a long drink, and it can only work as a thematic scent. But yes, it works. And quite well.

After a while, as always, the citrus fruits recede, and the softer components of the fragrance take over. I can't detect a pronounced heart note with pepper and/or birch.
In the base, you find yourself in a nice cigar lounge in Havana, continuing to sip your Cuba Libre. You just have to imagine the smoke a bit away; I hardly notice anything. What does come to the fore are leather armchairs, and somehow you can imagine smelling good (unlit) cigars.
The leather is not the fine kind from the English gentlemen's club where only discussions take place and where only the Queen is allowed in as a woman, nor is it an old leather jacket that has been used for many years. These are old, good leather armchairs that have been well cared for with beeswax, but have diligently done their job as seating.
So you sit there, sipping away, in the background you hear Compay Segundo playing "Chan Chan." De Alto Cedro voy para Marcané... Llego a Cueto, voy para Mayarí
But I digress.
So the base is pleasant leather. It's not listed in the pyramid, but it's there. Whether one smells tobacco is up to each individual to decide. The Cuba Libre stays around for quite a while, but over time it recedes, leaving a light, pleasant vanilla sweetness that blends wonderfully with the leather and becomes one.
Tuscan Leather was mentioned here as a reference for a scent component. That fits to some extent; I find the leather in Severo not as harsh.

A truly successful thematic fragrance that fits wonderfully with Cuba.
Thematic fragrances can be tricky when it comes to wearability. I find this one very easy to wear, especially when the base comes into play.
Tending to be somewhat masculine by traditional classifications, but certainly wearable for women.

I am very happy with this blind purchase; it fills a previously unknown gap in my leather fragrances and actually makes me think of Cuba, where I definitely need to go back.

A Perfect Match for Cola Lovers!
Really nice what Jacques Zolty has delivered here. In search of a light, airy, slightly fresh fragrance with some floral aspects that houses a very authentic, prominent, and not overly sweet cola note, I immediately warmed to this release upon first contact a few days ago.

An uncomplicated feel-good scent that I can particularly imagine wearing in spring and on summer evenings. The fragrance evokes a positive zest for life in me and immediately matched my preferred scent profile. With lime and a hint of rum, it definitely brings Caribbean feelings, especially when the right temperatures come into play.

The pricing of the fragrance is also very fair for what you get. I also like the revamped packaging and the brown glass bottle with a magnetic cap.

A spicy citrus scent with pleasant sweetness that pairs very well with the davana note in the heart. Bright musk and amber provide a good foundation, so you can enjoy the fragrance for a long time. Severo is not loud, but present. I find the longevity of about 6-7 hours on my skin completely sufficient for this scent DNA. The projection is always subtle for those around you, yet still adequately noticeable.

All in all, I am very satisfied and happy to have this fragrance in my collection now.

Cheers!

Beautiful summer scent - unusual due to birch and davana, offering more depth but also lightness than just citrus/rum/cola.
