Tipsy Praline in an Evening Dress
I came across this fragrance through a Russian-speaking perfume channel on YouTube. Sometimes, certain scents open up to me from a completely different perspective, ones I hadn't paid much attention to before. However, I can't say if it's due to the fact that many things appear differently in the original mother tongue... but that's not the topic here. This fragrance was raved about, described as beautifully berry-like, and said to develop differently for many. Some would smell raspberries, while others would pick up more strawberries, and it was touted as a great summer scent. I immediately did some research and recently ordered it from Belgium, as it's hardly available here in Germany. I hoped for something like Cherry in Japan or similar; I love that scent DNA, or a nice light cherry scent reminiscent of the Yves Rocher cherry from 2010, God, how I loved it... In the end, it was nothing like that at all. At first, I had the impression that the scent had gone off, but after a while, I realized it must be the praline, one with a lot of alcohol and powdered sugar on top. It is incredibly tipsy and more or less what defines the fragrance for me. All the other notes listed here are at best in the background and can only be guessed at. Red Cherry is heavy, very sweet, and sexy. It works great as an evening scent. If it were more concentrated, it would be too heavy for me. It's a sweet bomb, but reduced to a bearable level. However, you shouldn't take too much of it, and it's advisable in summer if you enjoy being chased and attacked by wasps.
