Wintry Opulence
The fragrances from the Monsieur Couturier line seem to have been reissued.
Historically, there have been no releases or scents (at least in the last 20 years).
That makes the three newly reissued fragrances all the more exciting, or rather, we should say reissued classics:
Both the blue Cobalt, Rouge Nacarat, and Noir Cashmere are actually classic men’s fragrances in a new or newer guise.
Somewhat more contemporary, stronger, longer-lasting, yet still very classic.
This one is very present and opulent.
A scent that truly comes into its own on a winter evening. Decadent, opulent, room-filling, somewhat reminiscent of Noir Extreme Parfum, in my opinion.
Fine. Balanced and well-made. Long-lasting and intense, without becoming extremely annoying or clumsy. Also intense but good; it is not overpowering or pushing itself to the forefront. I like that.
Fireplace, good company, a fine meal; at the bar with good friends while it’s cold outside. A drink, not sangria from a bucket or Jägermeister :) Good conversations!
Afterwards:
Coat on, scarf, out into the fresh air. Here the fragrance has the power to assert itself. It fits here.
Not for summer or spring.
Spicy, sweet, a bit like a drink made with rum. A little plum, cardamom, spicy-oriental, as I find.
Oud - I hate oud - is not consciously detectable.
Thank God.
And honestly, this is where the classic 80s retro influences in this line come in:
It’s the mass of many ingredients, like once with Azzaro pour Homme Eau de Toilette, Boss Number One Eau de Toilette, Man Pure Eau de Toilette or similar:
The entire product smells good, fine, balanced. No details can be discerned.
This is not for university or a trip to the supermarket; this one is for the gentleman who goes out in the evening, perhaps to the theater, restaurant, bar, or even to a party. Definitely not for the festival tent :)
The price is great and worth a test. Nothing super new and innovative but solid, good, and classic craftsmanship.
Why not?
And when it gets cold, then perhaps applied discreetly, it can be good and fits into a larger collection or for those who have fewer fragrances and are looking for something for the evening.
Test recommended!
