Underrated summer evening beauty
I blind-bought Jimmy Choo Exotic a few years ago, based on my love for Jimmy Choo Stars. These two are opposing sides of the same coin: Both are closely related to the original Jimmy Choo EDP, with Stars being the warming wintery Christmas orange version and Exotic being the lively, summery, fruity variant.
It reminds me of cocktails and warm nights, it's lush, syrupy and thick. Smells just like the listed notes: A fruitchouli with the same dank patch as in the original JC and the same powdery orchid, but with juicy notes of raspberry and blackcurrant and a tropical, tart edge of grapefruit and fruity passion flower. Sometimes notes like these can turn a little too sour on me, but they absolutely don't in this scent. I think there might be a hint of the original's caramel in this, too, that keeps the base warm and sweet.
This is quite intense and sexy for a summer fragrance. Not quite as heavy and sweet as the EDP or JC Stars, but not too light to wear it in winter, too.
If you hated the fruitchouli trend of the 2010s, this won't be to your taste, but if you still like it, this is an underrated gem.
