Spray On, Tune In, Drop Out
Picture in your mind a recording studio in the late '70s. There is a lounge where musicians can take a break from the rehearsal sessions and rest on comfy couches and sofas. This is furniture that over the years has been used by Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Eagles or Led Zeppelin, from the prog-rock to disco artists and everything in between. In search of that perfect tone or creative spark many substances have been consumed leaving a scented footprint behind.

Now the wallpaper in that lounge, the worn out carpet, couches and cushions all smell of vanilla pods and old wood with a weird psychedelic touch of creamy orris. It's a sweet and dated, strange but pleasant smell: the bizarre and accomplished scent of 14Hour Dream.

To Pink Floyd
“Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young, in a world of magnets and miracles, our thoughts wandered constantly and without boundaries” High Hopes, Pink Floyd.
Here we have this group with a philosophical and innovative approach as inspiration.
I saw myself for the first time listening to one of their songs: a hypnotic, strange sensation, which then turns into pleasure and appreciation.
And so is this fragrance: initially particular, oriental, mystical, spicy, and then becoming sweet and soft, thanks to vanilla and sandalwood. Beautiful evolution, not my thing but really interesting.

My opinion only
This is lovely.
The vanilla really stands out but not in a bad or imposing way.
there's a definite 70s rocker stuffiness to it. A leather jacket hung on the back of a chair in a opium smoke filled rehearsal room kind of vibe.
It's stuffy, druggy, leathery, vanilla, woody goodness.

I Used to Be a… Woman!
14Hour Dream… does that mean that the fragrance is a dream and lasts about 14 hours, or does it mean that you have a fourteen-hour dream? I’m leaning towards the former, but I wish I could have a fourteen-hour dream, who knows what I would dream about, or um… who I would dream about :D (not to mention that I would have to sleep that long, which is a challenge for me… I… who often can’t even sleep three or four hours straight…!).

As I mentioned, since I often sleep poorly or very little, it always seems to me as if I never dream, at least I only remember a few of my dreams.

And yes,… before you ask…. Yes, I have also dreamed about Batman a time or two. Either that I was Batman, or that I met Batman…
I probably shouldn’t share the following because it’s really weird, … but… I was even… a WOMAN in one of my dreams!!! A very good-looking one, too! A woman who could fly… I hope it’s just because I was really into the Supergirl series at that time and thought the Supergirl actress (Melissa Benoist) was totally WOW :D

But… that was so obvious. Out of fear and nervousness in real life, I hope to at least be surrounded by hot women in my dreams, and what happens? I dream that I am a woman myself… argh!

Well, let’s get to the fragrance:

The Fragrance:
The fragrance starts off heavily sweet with vanilla, which for a brief moment even has a chocolaty scent, perhaps due to the combination of vanilla and patchouli. In any case, iris (or in this case, iris butter) also mixes in, making the fragrance, which already begins quite powdery due to the vanilla, even softer and gentler.
A little later, I smell pepper. But for a fragrance that lists pepper absolute, I find the pepper not very strong, which I actually appreciate because it wouldn’t have fit with the gentle notes otherwise. As it is dosed here, it fits well with the rest.
The fragrance, with the spicy pepper and the sweet-gentle notes, reminds me of Christmas treats, for example, like peppernuts (well, sometimes there isn’t real pepper in them, but you know what I mean).
Woody notes come into the base, from which you can best smell the cedar. The pepper does become a bit stronger towards the end, but never to the point of being bothersome. In the later base, vanilla is the strongest note and smells, as often, sweet and powdery and just good.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The projection is good, which is to be expected from a sweet-spicy fragrance with wintery notes. It also leaves a small scent cloud behind.
The longevity is impressive with its nine or ten hours. I think the fragrance could last fourteen hours, but I’ve never sprayed it on for that long myself.

The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and has an orange hue. It has an extremely thick base. Apparently, the bottles are inspired by jukebox music machines, which would also explain the disc-shaped cap that is meant to represent a vinyl record. The label also looks like the cover of an LP, from which a vinyl record is also protruding. An interesting idea and nice to look at.

Ah, the fragrance reminds me of Christmas time, which is somehow my favorite time, with all the atmosphere and everything, even if many say that these holidays have become extremely commercialized, well… I still like it. As always, I’m already looking forward to getting a Christmas tree again, as well as decorations, window snow, endless lights, and endless sweets… and let’s not forget Haydut, my cat, who gets to wear a Christmas hat all December long, if he allows me to put it on him, which can sometimes be a real battle, but he definitely has to lose that one :DD

14Hour Dream has become a very nice, soft, and sweet-spicy fragrance that can be worn well in winter. It probably won’t stand out at a Christmas market, but it’s still a lovely scent :)

Yes, I would give it a try.

* sigh * still so long until Christmas, and it’s only summer… some say about 5 months until then… others might say something like “only 3 more showers, and then it’s Christmas!” :DDD

So, let’s see if I dream about something today… something pretty… but I’ll probably dream about buying high heels or something for myself, argh! At least I was damn hot as a woman, yeah… oh man oh man…

Artificial Orient
On a black vinyl record, the 4 bottles from Jusbox are arranged. The line has a very stylish vibe and evokes thoughts of the hippest and trendiest scene. Old school was yesterday, this is definitely new school.

The Orient has been reinvented with 14Hour Dream. This Jusbox creation is the one with the largest volume. No Use Abuse comes close, as it has different characteristics, and certainly not Micro Love. Here we have a combination of Dries Van Noten by Frédéric Malle and Chocolate Greedy by Montale. When these two fragrances are mentioned as reference points, it’s clear that 14Hour Dream is quite bold. The gourmand aspect cannot be overlooked.

The vanilla-saffron-like note is clearly attributed to Dries Van Noten, while the cocoa undertone comes from Chocolate Greedy.

14Hour Dream speaks cocoa, even though it’s not explicitly listed in the pyramid. Well, maybe it’s not pure cocoa, but at least a note that strongly leans in that direction. Is this the combination of patchouli with iris butter and vanilla? Perhaps. Somehow, the fluid also slightly reminds one of Gaultier's Kokorico, where cocoa is also prominently featured.

Despite its heaviness, the fragrance is airy and light, not a burdensome sweet stickiness. The Orient is modern and transparent, not shrouded or plastered with cloying notes. Smart and stylish, Jusbox uses ingredients like saffron, vanilla, patchouli, and iris butter.

In any case, 14Hour Dream is fun, and the longevity reflects that. The 150 euros are much better spent here than on Micro Love. It’s also quite stylish that Jusbox produces 78 ml bottles.

Warm, creamy vanilla with bubbly spices and a prominent woody base, plus hints of chocolatey patchouli & an almost smoky, rich ground pepper

Great! First hour is Pure Havane, just not as sweet, then patchouli, vanilla & cedar take center stage. After an hr. most sweetness leaves.

At first, beautiful vanilla with great, creamy iris butter. A bit of patchouli says hello too. Later, a slightly smoky wood base. Not bad.

Saffron cotton candy wraps itself around the ginger-spiced iris butter cake;
it somehow smells like a few aunts at a coffee gathering.

Pleasant yet so average that you’ve smelled this powdery sweetness a thousand times and will never remember it.

Successful start with sweet saffron-ginger, peppery earthy iris follows, and the woods round it off nicely. Finally, a beauty.

Dreamy soft iris sweetens life with saffron & vanilla, before it shakes with sweet-spicy patchouli & ends in a woody finale.
